Kimpton Riverplace Hotel

The waterfront location, friendly service, well-appointed rooms, and comfortable beds were praised. Some guests appreciated the spacious and beautifully decorated spaces. No disadvantages were mentioned.

Cecilia and I thoroughly enjoyed a six night summer getaway at the Kimpton RiverPlace - great location by the river, an impressive array of complimentary amenities throughout the day (including afternoon iced tea and Italian ice pops) and most notably, attentive and extremely friendly service from the entire staff. Special thank you to front desk managers Matt and Marina who went out of their way to ensure that we had a memorable stay. Matt was so accommodating in handling all of our special requests but provided invaluable recommendations on the best places to dine and shop in the area. Marina was super helpful in arranging for a mid-stay room upgrade as a larger suite became available after the first night of our reservation. Did I forget to mention the hotel’s restaurant King Tide & Shell? Not only were the seafood dishes to die for but the service was even better! We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with Hannah, Dani and Scotie (with one “t”) and getting their insider recommendations to check out in Portland. Finally, the bedding in our room was superb - we can’t remember getting sounder nights of sleep at any other hotel (and the dead quiet our our courtyard facing suite at night didn’t hurt either). The only area of possible improvement would be that the rooms and hallways may be due for a refresh to bring it in line with the newer Kimptons. We will definitely be returning to RiverPlace during our next trip to PDX!

Marina was exceptional. Not only did she take care of us and answer all the questions I had but she was so sweet and thorough throughout everything. She went above and beyond!
