The Bidwell Marriott Portland

Easy to go anywhere in Portland, Close by malls and convenience store.

We had a wonderful stay at the Bidwell. The location was perfect for touring Portland. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is fantastic. Have questions? Derek will help you. Josh is great to greet you and valet your car. Highly recommend choosing the Bidwell!

The Bidwell is a nice Marriott boutique hotel near Pioneer Square. It’s about a mile and a half from the Amtrak station, but you will probably want to take a cab to the hotel. Josh, the valet, is one of the best parts of the hotel. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Room is modern, nice size, lots of towels, bathrobes, comfortable beds and the floor is “wood” with a rug under the bed. The desk chair was awful—not sure if it was broken or just made that way. The front desk people were not knowledgeable to the point of being annoying. (They couldn’t even give me a printed bill when I left because “the system will send it to you tonight”). Watch out for all the add-on fees—wish they would just roll them into the overall price. There is a “destination fee” per night (for what destination, I do not know) and the restaurant (which was better than average and with good drinks and waitstaff), had a 5% add on fee. I don’t know if that’s the hotel or Portland in general. (Every place we went to in Portland seemed want more than the stated price). I would stay here again, but I would probably insist on dealing with a manager. If you eat in the restaurant, ask for Chris—he knows the city and was an excellent source for city information and how to get there. Metro is extremely accessible, but the staff on the train, who were kind, were not knowledgeable. Chris had the most accurate information.

Loved the experience here. From the moment we arrived till the moment that we parted, service was excellent. Josh S , the night valet greeted us like we were old friends returning. Happy Birthday Josh! All of the front desk staff and the day valets were always friendly and welcoming and let's not forget Erika, the afternoon spirits tasting hostess. Love this place, rooms were excellent and clean and very well-appointed. Can't wait to return. It was a a great location for us to walk, eat and catch a Summer concert.
