A top little motel, clean, tidy, very comfy bed, great shower, great facilities like a microwave/crockery and great staff. Good rates as well. Would highly recommend and stay again. Well done to the owners.

Large, comfortable rooms with an ensuite big bathroom. Great motel and appears to have been freshly rebuilt. The bed is comfy with high-quality bed warmer. The room has been thoroughly cleaned, and has no unpleasant odours. Netflix and the internet are available for free. Good location and easy to find. Beautiful BBQ garden. Low-noise split-system air conditioner. Reasonable price. 😡Downside: they provided simply towels and a bottle of hand wash, without shampoo, body wash, or other items. Fortunately, we had our own toiletries. There is no ventilation in the bathroom. As a result, the unpleasant odour persists. The management, perhaps the owner, was grumpy. Even when we returned the room key, he took it from my fingers like a hawk and said nothing kind, not even a thank you.

We were thrilled with our stay at the Mariner Hotel in Portland. From the moment we made our reservation, the experience was smooth and welcoming. We received a friendly welcome email, and upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and promptly given our room key. While the exterior of the hotel resembled many standard motels we've visited, we were pleasantly surprised by the interior. The room featured new or recently updated floor coverings, a highly efficient reverse cycle heater, and a very functional bathroom. My wife was particularly impressed by how spotless the room was. We enjoyed a restful night’s sleep and appreciated the convenience of the in-room coffee and tea before heading out early the next morning. Thank you for a delightful stay!

Check-in was friendly, room was well refurbished, clean, quiet, and comfortable. The bathroom was excellent - a good size, plenty of bench space, and a wonderful shower. Excellent value for money. The sort of accommodation you wish you could find more often. Highly recommended.

We were really pleased with this find! The Mariner Motel, Portland, is a great place to stay, with very friendly management, and only a minute's drive into this lovely town's CBD. Our queen room felt brand new. It was impeccably clean, modern, very comfortable (especially the bed), and had all the appliances, amenities and conveniences that you would expect from such a high quality establishment. Great value.

Stayed here as part of a trip along the Great Ocean Road. By far the best value accommodation we stayed at. Nicely appointed rooms, very clean, lovely crockery and utensils. Nice touch was the additional bin for recycling! Walking distance to major shops and amenities. Would definitely stay here again.

This looks like a retro 1960s motel but I found it excellent. It appears to have been renovated recently. Fittings and appliances looked like new. The room was not large, but suitable for one or two people, and very clean and comfortable. It had cutlery and crockery for two with the tea/coffee etc expected. Good fridge, kettle and microwave oven. Nice touch was the detergent and sponge for dishwashing. Some motels don't do this. No noise so I slept well. Friendly staff.
