One of the worst hotel experiences! The hotel is on a main road with a lot of traffice and was extremely noisy since with no AC (not as advertised) we had to leave the windows open to regulate the heat. Also a very unfriendly reception upon arrival. The room itself.....dirty bathrooms, soiled towels, toddler-sized toilet, in complete disrepair with peeling paint and dirty walls & windows. In addition there was a very mediocre to terrible breakfast offering.......The hotel was a huge disappointment overall!

Maggie made our stay SO special. She went above and beyond with special surprises and touches that made our stay incredible! Your property is a 10/10 and is a luxury boutique hotel. It's a short walk to the waterfront. Breakfast had a great selection and a cappuccino/espresso machine! Stay here, do not hesitate. I

If you want a very nice, clean, fun and tasteful decor within walking distance to downtown Portland, ME and free parking - staying at the Blind Tiger is a must! We were overjoyed with the breakfast spread every morning; homemade bread, biscuits, jams, relishes, yogurt, granola with berries, bagels, cheeses, crudite and more. They even have a help yourself to soft drinks, mixer bar plus tea/coffees and cookies and snacks around the clock. Loved the dried blood oranges. We appreciated the bar refrigerator to use for our personal use and the bar freezer was stocked with lots of ice cubes, small, large, with/without fruit, with lemons, limes, etc. Many guests took advantage of keeping their adult beverages cold (wine/beer/etc) in the bar fridge reserved for guests. After a day of sight seeing, eating lobster and walking the town it was nice to come back to the many rooms and choose a corner to relax in and have a nightcap. Caroline, Maggie and Nicollette all were extremely helpful with walking routes, dinner recommendations and brewery recommendations. Spent the days sightseeing, doing a bike tour via @LighthouseBikes, best lobster roll at the Portland Lighthouse Cape Elizabeth @BiteofMaine food truck, we also hopped on the Mail Boat that left in the morning and delivers mail to the various islands. Sit up front on top on the left or right side to get the best views. Bring a hat, sunscreen and a breakfast beverage and snack if you want. Plenty of folks were drinking wine, beer with a charcuterie spread they picked up before they boarded. Lots of great restaurants with lobster - you really can't go wrong. If you are looking for oysters - go the @TheShop where they were $2 a piece. We especially liked the #NovaResBierCafe - charming beer garden with an awesome variety of beers and yes they had wine and cider choices for me. We spent 3 nights in Portland, ME at The Blind Tiger. We were glad we did. After a busy day it felt like home to go back to the Blind Tiger.

My husband and I just spent two glorious nights here and I cannot say enough good things about our stay! This place is incredible. It is so well located and it is staffed by the friendliest, most knowledgeable people who are willing to help assist and provide recommendations at any time. Of all the various places we stayed in the course of our 10 day trip to Maine, this was our favorite. It is also uniquely gorgeous and well appointed and the bedding is extremely plush. You will not be disappointed here. Don’t miss the basement billiard room if you go! The whole place is very cool.

Booked a 2 night short break in Portland staying at the blind tiger. a wonderful experience . hosts were excellent, hotel so calm, furnishings so beautiful. Help yourself to the free coffee, and the open pantry filled with lovely treats, cookies, popcorn, confectionary. Beds so comfy and beautiful soft pillows and linen. Breakfast was fabulous selection of fresh fruits, pastries, breads, cheese and meats. so appetizing. Hotel is short walk to lots of bars and restaurants. Definitely would like to return for longer stay

Such a gorgeous place to stay! We were able to walk to so many places around town. The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating and the common areas were so well quipped. We stayed in the Baxter suite and loved how spacious it was. Will definitely plan to stay here again!

Housekeeping wasn't available unless you texted that you wanted it done. Then only changed the towels and emptied garbage. No linen change or even made the bed. Bathroom wasn't cleaned, no cleaning of the desk table either. The common areas could have been cleaner also. The breakfast was very mediocre. Only hard boiled eggs, no other kind. No meat, no pastries, only oatmeal as a cereal. Lots of toppings for oatmeal and toast. And a salad for breakfast? Staff was very friendly and helpful. Coffee bar was great.

Run! No on-site staff. No security. Rooms accessible from other rooms. You're on your own. Good luck. There is no assistance with parking, getting into the building, hauling your bags up flights of stairs. This place is all hype. We checked in...15 minutes later, we checked out

We had a very fine and quiet stay at this really unconventional, but nice, 200 years old-guesthouse. Decoration throughout the building and the general atmosphere gave us a rather joyful feeling. We had chosen the 3rd floor Diavolo room: very colorful and a large bathroom. Apart of the room, many other spaces available including of course dining room, kitchen with open pantry and lounge, but also a billiard room in the basement and a look-out cupola on top of the roof. Very fine and healthy breakfast buffet available and personnel was very helpful. Tips for new guests: parking space is available in Winter Street, where also the entry to the guesthouse is located (and not in Danforth Street, as we originally assumed). Tip for the owners: please check the electricity wiring in the attic…
