Canopy by Hilton Portland Waterfront

We went here for our anniversary and my birthday. I booked a suite for 3 nights expecting a harbor view as in the pictures depicted on the website. When I arrived I saw the view of a parking lot from my window. I approached the front desk and asked if they had a room with a better view. I am a Hilton Gold Member but was told that the hotel didn't have any rooms with views of the water. I didn't argue and moved on disappointed. After the first day, our room was not attended to or cleaned upon our return. For example, even had to contact the front desk a few times to get a coffee cup in the morning. At checkout, I expected the Hilton Gold Member Perks such as Breakfast and Complementary beverages. Unfortunately, I was greeted with the statement that they did not honor this as I had "booked through a third party". The third party is American Express Platinum which was the reason I booked in the first place. It was a disappointment considering the price and the fact that we stayed at another Hilton property at our next destination and the Hilton Gold Rewards were honored no questions asked. I would stay at a different property upon our next trip to Portland. If you are a Hilton Gold member ,double check about the rewards.

Wonderful location to explore downtown Portland, the staff is amazing and informative about the surrounding area! The rooms are great with very comfortable mattresses possibly the most comfortable hotel room I’ve stayed in. Will visit again!

We had a wonderful time in Portland Maine at the Canopy Hotel! We made a small booking mistake (booked in the wrong city), which was quite an issue because there were no hotel rooms left in Portland for the weekend! However, the Alec at the front desk was able to find us a room and settle us down. The hotel was beautiful, and the room was very nice. They have an awesome roof top bar, as well as a nice lobby bar if the roof is at capacity. It is located in the Old Port area and is walkable to a ton of restaurants and night life activities. I would highly recommend Canopy to anyone looking for a place to stay in Portland.

An excellent experince. Beautiful hotel and great customer service with a wealth of knowledge of the surrounding area. The hotel itself was clean and the restaurants were excelent. Have the Breakfast at Luna! Lots of shopping and additional restaurants within walking distance.

My bff and I had the wonderful experience of staying at this hotel. The decor is modern, the hotel is immaculate, and the rooms are large and comfortable. The rooftop bar was lively and offered delicious appetizers and cocktails. Alec and Sarah at Guest Services were a highlight of our trip. Their hospitality was unmatched. They were super friendly, helpful and we truly enjoyed spending time chatting with them. Hoping to stay here again next time we're in Portland!

Our experience at this hotel was wonderful. The location is perfect, the staff so pleasant and helpful and the rooms clean, spacious and comfortable. We used the fitness center, which was small and could use some more weight training equipment. Restaurant and bar definitley worth a visit. If you are in Portland, this is the place to stay.
