Courtyard Portland Downtown/Waterfront

I came to the property on business and was thrilled the moment I arrived. From the very attentive valet to the super friendly front desk staff, check in was a breeze and the accommodations were spot on. The view from the room was beautiful and the bed was super comfortable. Service was five-star and they accommodated my late check out due to flight delays even though they were 100% booked. It's no wonder! Top notch property...can't wait to return. Thank you, Maggie for my personal welcome note, veggie straws, chocolates and the recommendation to go to Becky's Diner - YUM!

Great location in the Old Port/Downtown area. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the lobby area is quite nice. Though the pricing for all food and drink is really high in the lobby (and starbucks... $6.50 for a small chobani yogurt!). The pool is quite small, not very warm, and not a lot of seating so if you're going for a pool for the kids I might look elsewhere. Overall a fine stay in a good location, but it all felt a bit overpriced for what you get. That being said, Portland, Maine is a very very cool town and you should visit! Oh, and we ended up with a room with 2 king beds which was pretty epic for our kiddo.

I gave this hotel 5 stars because my standards for a courtyard are pretty low and this well exceeded those expectations. I am surprised that Marriott hasn’t given this hotel a different brand because this was the nicest courtyard I ever stayed in. First the positives. The location is great. Walking distance to so many restaurants and the nice shopping Portland offers. Rooms were very very nice. My adult children shared a room with 2 beds and both beds were king beds which I have never seen. They usually put 2 queens in those rooms. There was a very nice lobby with plenty of seating and games. I also found the gym a decent size with what I needed to get a good sweat. I won’t call these negatives. I will call them “things they need to do if Marriott wants to re-designate this property to one of their higher brands.” First, the front desk staff. Dealt with 3 different people and none were pleasant or welcoming. Second, The gym could use a few more pieces of simple equipment (e.g., some large foam rollers, a basu, another bench) as well as another mirror. They should also test the equipment as even though there were 2 pelotons, one needed some TLC. But I would definitely stay here again.

no car required. an uber to and from the amtrak train station is less than $10 (1 way). hotel is clean, quiet, and right on the waterfront of the bay.

I would definitely stay at this property again.
