We stayed at the Francis for 3 days and enjoyed the hotel and location immensely. The coffee and water stations were always available to guests, as were several sitting rooms around the hotel. The building itself is beautiful and our room was spacious and quiet. The beds were comfortable and the room was also well stocked with toiletries and snacks/beverages. The staff is friendly, attentive and great to chat with and offer suggestions for dining and touring!

Such a wonderful independently owned hotel in the heart of Portland. Easy walk to downtown with plenty of shops restaurants and cafés. Close to the waterfront as well. The owners and staff are verty nice, and the rooms are large very pleasant in this historic Inn.

What a great experience! Rooms are very spacious with incredibly comfortable beds, hot and great pressures showers, thick towels and large drawers for clothes storage. The AC is quiet but cools the room beautifully. The location is a good 15 min walk from the center of Portland but we really appreciated the quiet space away from the high activity. And Tandem Bakery is right across the street!! Great find and will definitely stay here again,

Could not recommend this place enough! We are so glad we got to stay at The Francis on our pit stop in Portland. The staff is so caring and goes above and beyond with any request. Very considerate to things you may need. The rooms and lobby were very clean, spacious and cozy as well. You also get to stay in a piece of history for Portland :)

My new favorite hotel in Portland. Charming historical building, beautiful rooms that are anything but cookie-cutter and have mini fridges and minibars, comfy beds, and stylish everything. Very clean. Lovely common spaces. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. They support local artists and businesses, and are themselves locally owned. There are wonderful restaurants next door and a short walk away. Parking! Just top notch.

Our stay at the Francis was nice enough for one night. The staff was great and super helpful. The room was very uniquely laid out. The bathroom was one of the best we stayed at during our trip to Maine. They give you a voucher for breakfast that is at their sister property right across the street. They have parking available on-site and we had no issues with that coming back later in the evening. There are stairs into the entry way and the accessible entrance is not easy to see. They do have an elevator that works very well but some of the rooms have smaller steps to certain rooms. If you struggle with steps and narrow walk ways this would not be a place to stay. They parking is also down a steep hill, so beware of that too. They have complimentary wine available when you arrive, that was a nice touch. They have a restaurant attached to the property, although we did not dine there.

We only stayed for a day but from checking in to checking out, we felt very welcomed! The room felt very cozy with stylish furniture design n cute windows. Location is close to downtown depending on where you want to explore. Highly recommend!
