Amazing hotel. Had the best time ever! The hotel bar was so good and such great service!

Great stay.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We weren’t expecting great things for the price but were met with a very warm and friendly welcome. We arrived at 10am and check in wasn’t until 4pm but we were welcome to use the hotel and pool, given directions to the Main Street and told us they’d let us know soon as it was ready. Sure enough at 2.15 they what’s app’d our room was ready (we were by the pool!). The room was dated in decoration but had everything you need - comfy beds, fridge, hairdryer, excellent air con and very clean. Rooms were cleaned every day so no issues there. Also working lift Breakfast was basic but everything you need and very nice. Constantly replenished and again clean and everything was fresh. Would have liked boiled eggs as only scrambled but not a big issue. The staff at reception were incredibly helpful with directions to change money, showing me their used book library (I left my kindle on the plane, which I retrieved on way home from a very efficient Faro Airport), booking us a boat trip and ringing to confirm our taxi transfer. Bar staff also super friendly and food was nice and fresh. All in all our 5 nights in the Luar was lovely and we would visit again. The back gate to the town and beach very handy and not too busy round the pool - no need to do the towel thing!! Only tiny thing was a few trip hazards round the pool but only a minor issue- once we knew where they were we knew to avoid them!! On the area - the beach is amazing and beach bar does amazing food but gets really busy!! Sea is freezing but worth braving - sunbeds €9 each. The little tents on the street great for souvenirs and open late. Changing cash is tricky only found one place by the police station a far walk down. Most places take cards so take euros or use cash points. The street is split into a quieter end of bars and restaurants near the hotel to a much busier, louder, livelier end further down you go. We did both but found the restaurants and bars more relaxed at hotel end. A pint is about €4 cocktails €6/8. Nice 3 course meal with cocktails, Wine, coffees and liqueurs for two about €70/100. Food is amazing and choice of everything. Highly recommend La Casa Rocha, Taffy’s Bar, ‘F’ (in louder end and set back) and Croakepark Irish bar. All in all a really great time!!

The hotel room was basic,it was clean.just what we needed.The staff were friendly. The breakfast was the same every morning.i got abit fed up of scrambled egg,bacon.It would of been nice to of had more of a variety.i would return as it was clean,and very good location to the beach and restaurant.

the luar is located in a really nice area ,a 5min walk to the start of the strip to portimao, nice views out to the ocean...the hotel itself is ok,I wouldn't say the hotel reception staff were overly friendly, however the pool bar staff are friendly. There's a lot of sunbed hogging, i.e.,,people putting towels out at 8am and not actually using them til mid afternoon, and with no pool attendant some people were just removing towels,which fair enough. breakfast is basic so we ended up taking our own fruit and yoghurt etc.

Nice quiet hotel fab views , very relaxing holiday breakfast was nice done the job !! Great places to eat near by overall very nice pool area was clean but couldn’t get sunbed as where all taken with peopl placing there towels down first thing in the morning that’s my only disappointment

The hotel is modern and clean very friendly staff. Pool bar has a great food menu chicken goujons particularly tasty and fries. Big pool at lovely temperature. There are a lot of sun beds but a lot of people hog the sunbed but that’s not the hotels fault but they should maybe put signs up banning that.

The hotel is in a great location right at the end of the busy strip which is full of restaurants and shops. The beach has several places you can enter from the strip lots of steps though. Breakfast is basic (bacon,egg,ham and cheese,bread,few cereal and two fruit but for the price it's good. Hotel is clean out room was either cleaned or new towels and toilet rolls daily. The pool is lovely only down side is some drains popping up with dangerous broken tiles and sharp edges also a few people did slip on the blue edge of the pool as was slightly slimy. Overall great location, friendly staff, beautiful views.

Great experience from the moment we arrived early to check in . The management team and staff were warm ,friendly and very helpful with an early check in . Rooms are typical Portuguese style ,slightly dated some would say . Full of character we would remark . Beds super comfy ,should of got the double though . Foyer ,pool and grounds immaculately kept . Bar food is good and the local beer sagres is delicious. A mere walking distance and you are upon an array of restaurants . A long coast of beaches to suit all , large beach bars with delicious food to smaller coves . We will return soon .

First time at this hotel & if I was to go back to pria da Rocha I would definitely book this hotel again. Rooms a bit dated but clean had a lovely sea view ,beautiful pool area, great bar staff Will make any cocktail you ask for. Breakfast very basic but lovely scrambled eggs and croissants had a fantastic holiday

Perfect place for holiday . Rooms are well done and kept clean at all my stay . Seeming pool is good to relax and enjoy a drink or two from the bar . Breakfast can be improved ( salads , fruits ) but it was fine . I enjoy my stay and I can’t wait to get back . Just book a sea view so you can enjoy a nice time in the balcony:)
