Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Portage, IN

From room to lobby (where there was always free, good coffee!), everything was clean, fresh and well maintained. Sandra, who cleaned our room, was so nice. I asked her the next morning for a few more towels and she handed them right over. Sff dud a great job. Pool was nice and we had fun staying here. We were in room. 201, highway was close but traffic was not nearly as noticeable as with other places we've stayed. It is to be expected to have some noise but it was to bad at all! Great 2-bed suite with fridge and microwave and even extra storage for snacks and food. 2 cirbswr windows with nice view of landscape outside property. Very nice place for the cost. We will definitely stay here again if we return fur a visit to Indiana Dunes parks. (Eating and shopping also close by). Very happy with this visit to Countryside Suites by Radisson, Portage!

We were here for the birth of our GRANDDAUGHTER. The staff was very accommodating and empathetic with the complications. They would ask about her in passing. Even the assistant General Manager, Yolanda and the front desk would ask how everything was going. The facilities were clean inside n out.

Front desk very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Obliged my last-minute request for a room downstairs and proximal to the breakfast bar and swimming pool. Room is spacious, comfortable and super quiet. Better than other rooms I've booked at twice the price. And both TV's have sleep timers (Yes, I am a Samsung guy) as I am not quick to fall asleep. Great coffee too!!! Will definitely be back.

If you want to throw a party and invite 50 friends to stomp around all night, this is your hotel. If you want to sleep and then go enjoy local attractions, steer clear. The bed is nice, the sheets are soft, but there is no one working the front desk or security at 4am. Our light fixture rattles every time they move upstairs.

I don't usually stay at Radissons. One reason is that I have a lot of points with Hilton. Another, is that twice in the past, my rooming got "mixed up." But at this location, nothing like that happened. In fact, I chose it over a nearby Hampton Inn based upon reviews of each. Was it worth it? Overall, yes. Only two things were negative, and they were minimal. You can judge how this might affect you. The tile grouting in my room (407) was in need of attention. I let them know, but it did not dampen my experience. The room was *very* quiet, including even the air conditioner...until about 5 a.m. Then I briefly heard muted talking and "bopping about,"like what you would hear if someone got up and was getting ready to leave. I did not report it, since it was brief, but it implies that either the walls are thin, or those particular people were unusually loud. Not sure which it was. Plus, this is a fluke experience. If I stayed there again, it is unlikely I would get similar people next to me, so I could be reporting that everything was perfect. Other than that, everything else was great; comfortable bed, perfect housekeeping, friendly staff, good breakfast, easy to get to, close to everything I wanted to do or see. Conclusion: I would stay here again if I was in the area.

We picked this hotel for the pool and to have a little girl weekend trip for my daughters birthday. The hotel is nice enough. Room is nice and spacious, and the pool area is nice. But boy are the staff rude! Upon arriving I stood at the desk for 10 minutes while 3 people in that area completely ignored me. Then finally one lady says “I guess you need to check in?” Then she proceeds to act like she doesn’t know what she’s doing and can’t get the computer to work. It took forever. Right after check in we went to the pool (3pm). There was a lady sitting at the pool door with a table and reading a book who was policing all who goes in and what you bring in. I thought that was weird. I’ve never had a hotel do that before. We were in there for 3 hours. Myself and two preteen girls. We sat in the hot tub. Swam in the pool. We were the only ones. It was great. Then we left for dinner and when we came back to the pool the lady policing everyone kept coming in and telling everyone under 14 to get out of the hot tub. No where is there anything about age. Just that under 14 can’t be in the pool area without an adult. Even on the sign for the spa it said little children and pregnant mothers should not be in without consulting a doctor. NOTHING else. And I didn’t have little children. We specifically chose this hotel because my daughter wanted a hot tub and pool to hang out in with her best friend. I didn’t appreciate the attitude, rudeness and lack of any type of class or integrity at all from the hotel staff. Staff that all seem dissatisfied with their jobs; like they have no idea what’s going on; and want to police everything that the guests are doing. Will not recommend and will definitely never stay in again.

Recently traveled to area for a visit to the Indiana Dunes National Park. Check in process was slow with no one manning the front desk. Room had sticky carpet, dirty bathroom floor, visible damage to walls/ceiling and AC unit that did not work. Explored discussion with front desk staff but waited 15 minutes to no avail. Common spaces - pool, lobby and breakfast area are well maintained and visible investment has been made recently. Hotel rooms need love; for that reason I would recommend avoiding this hotel.

I am a frequent guest whose regular room was not accepted for discount. Thinking of not returning to this property anymore. Toilet did not flush by the time kids were sleep and was too late to switch rooms. Money was not refunded like advised.

I stayed here for one night as a quick stopover before flying out of O'Hare the next day. This hotel was clean and the service was efficient. The parking was plentiful and there were several restaurants nearby. If you need a place that won't break the bank, is good for families, and close to Chicago, this is the perfect property. The rooms are larger than most basic-level rooms.
