Terrible. One star is two too many. Mold on the curtains, in the air conditioner and on the shower curtain. Arrived late at night so did not notice other than the stale smell. Tried cranking the air for circulation which made it way worse. Woke up with a sore throat from all the mold. Told my complaint would be “passed on to the manager”. Even the night clerk commented how nothing ever worked.

There is no way this is 4 star. I stay at a lot of hotels for business and pleasure and this is up there with the worst. First, if asked to check in with a digital key they don’t have the doors. Second, if you want housekeeping you need to tell them the morning before you leave-they don’t tell you this at check-in. Lastly, the keys continued to not work every day of my stay. Front desk stated she recommends guest to get new keys everyday because the doors are old-they didn’t tell me that at check-in. Just an overall poor experience at a Hilton

When elevator was found not to be working, we did not stay and stress our 85+ years old body up to the third floor to reach our room. In addition the initial view of the motel was not inviting. We requested a refund and the motel said contact Hilton Honors. This has been done and the response was a form letter saying contact the hotel. Called Hilton Honors and they promised a reply in 2-3 working days but now none in 2 months. I have written to Hilton Honors now twice but a refund is doubtful Also see other recent reviews quicly reducing the average rating.

Traveling through the area and we stay at Hampton Inns a LOT! but this one needs work! 2 of 9 lights in the parking lot work. So, it's dark & sketchy. Ice machines need cleaned and fixed! No ice in the whole building. I heard it's been that way for a while! We have had good experiences at other Hampton Inns, but you should avoid this one. Staff was friendly. I'm a HH member and wasn't offered my check in gift, though. Expectations were not met.

The place is really run down. Our bathroom wasn’t cleaned fully, and there were no towels in it, nor were there any sheets for the sofa bed. There were no toiletries either. The sheets the desk gave us had hairs on them. Breakfast was sparse. The pool room door didn’t open with the room key and was so covered in condensation that you could not see in. There was rotten food in the fridge. And the carpet on the first floor hallway was wet. It squished when you walked on it.

We recently stayed one night at the Hampton Inn Portage as a stay over to visit to Indiana Dunes National Park. The hotel is in a bit of a secluded quiet area but not far from a handful of places to eat or shop. It might be the smallest Hampton Inn I have been at, but gets the job done. I put as average as this was about as average as a stay as one can have. Nothing too bad and nothing too great. It is right on par with hotels in this range. Probably won't be wowed but also won't be dismayed. Hotel worked fine for a single night stay over. Not sure I would make this a stay for several nights in a row.

Never stay in this hotel even they are offering free stay . Dirty bed sheets and blankets..Dirty 2 towels folded nicely to ice for 4 people. Phones in the room not working to call reception. Walked all the way down and receptionist gave few pool towel. All floors ice machine not working except the ground floor. They told when we checked to come at 6 am for free breakfast.when came at 6.30 am for breakfast there was a sign on the board that no breakfast due to unavoidable circumstances. As per Guests who stayed one night before us mentioned that they didn’t receive breakfast previous morning either..FLAT BIG LIARS!!!They promised Hilton points for not providing breakfast.. but didn’t receive any even after 2 weeks. This place is full of liars especially an elderly lady at the reception. Please go to another place even if you are paying more$$$!!! Never had this experience in any other Hilton properties . Emailed Hilton customer service with no use .

If you are about to book this hotel because "It's a Hampton and all Hamptons are good," DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. My family stayed at this hotel for four nights in June 2024. I am just going to list the problems in the fastest way possible: -The first thing we got told was that there was NO TOILET PAPER. We had to go purchase our own TP when we went out. They DID offer to refund our rooms the moment we tried to check in, but who can just refuse the whole room, when you're hundreds of miles from home, while standing in the lobby? -The "breakfast" you expect at a Hampton was not what was served. There were some stations with cereal, some bread and bagels, the waffle thing, and some instant oatmeal. There was a sign that indicated that "our oven went out this morning!" to apologize for there being no hot breakfast. This same sign was in place all four days, and the warmer was full of days-old water and chunks of leftover food. -The shower curtain in our room was dangerous. My wife tripped and nearly fell in the shower because the shower curtain was a good 14 inches into the tub floor. -The curtains in the actual bedroom were disgusting, blotched with black specks and filth, which is probably because ... -The air conditioner was barely functioning and spewed out gross, stale air, and the unit itself was covered with filth. -There's no microwave. It's true that the listing doesn't specifically say there WOULD be a microwave, but at this point in history why would you even ask? EVERY hotel has microwaves! -The ice makers on the second and third floors were both out. Only the first-floor ice maker worked. -The elevator is rickety, and there's no certificate listing the last time it was inspected. -The hallways smell of stale smoke. -The pool area was so overwhelmingly humid and hot that we did not even attempt to get in. It was easily 100 degrees inside. When we attempted to contact corporate over these complains, we basically got a big shrug in response. We were not offered anything other than an empty "we're sorry you had this experience." I've stayed in cheap hotels that were cleaner and had better amenities than this. Hamptons are NOT CHEAP. We book them because the brand carries with it an expectation that we won't have to deal with anything gross or unsafe, we'll be able to have a decent breakfast every morning, and everything will be fresh and clean. This experience has ruined my perception of the entire franchise.

This was a failure on several levels. The front desk did not acknowledge we were Diamond members and we had to ask for the bag of water/snacks that is usually waiting for established Hilton members. The room did not have any regular coffee and when we went down to ask for some, the lady at the desk was downright rude to us. Our asking if any upgrades were available was also dismissed with a good dose of snottiness (goes back to the Diamond status, she should have seen that on the screen when we checked in). Sorry for putting you out. The room had an empty tissue box sitting under the bathroom sink; by this time, we were in no mood for another dose of rudeness from Mrs. Bad Attitude at the desk. For breakfast, we were greeted with a sign saying that the oven was broken, so not hot breakfast. And what was left was a joke. The staff didn't seem very concerned; no repair track was to be seen. So, they could not boil eggs? Could not have any bagels besides sweet? And poor, generic, cheap tea. This place just had a very poor attention to detail everywhere-- easter decorations up in June, grout missing from tiles in the bathroom. This is a Hilton? Come on, you can do a lot better with just a little care. This again makes me re-think why I have a Hilton card.
