Super 8 by Wyndham Portage

I definitely liked how comfortable the room was. The A/C worked great. Their were some crumbs on the floor on the second bed, and also I would have loved more towels and bigger shampoo bottles, but overall it was great. I definitely loved the ease of access to a lot of things too.

I’m not sure the room was cleaned. The bed was not made, the room smelled, and there was hair in the shower. It looked like someone shaved a yeti in the shower. Will not return.

Checking-in The woman at the front desk was nice. No issues with check-in. Facilities The building seemed in OK repair. Nothing jumped out as dilapidated or broken. Guest room- Very, very basic. One notch above a military barrack. The room was clean. No broken items or things in disrepair. No telephone. I was OK staying there for a quick overnight. I was not going to be spending any time hanging around the hotel. I would not expect spouse or family to stay there except for a desperate quick overnight. Wifi speed ******. Getting to the second is wanky- go through a door in the lobby into the guest laundry room (with a broken dryer, maybe it was the washer), through another door to a vestibule, then up the stairs. Breakfast is very poor. No fruit- fresh or prepackaged. Scrambled eggs bin was empty. Cereal and waffles. That was about it.

Nice Continental breakfast. Friendly people. Very quiet place even though it was spring break in the Wisconsin Dells area. Wisconsin Dells is about 16 miles away and easy to get there on the nearby highways. We would stay there again should we be in there area.

The hotel clerk was nice and had us checked in quickly. The property is a little funky, we had to enter a door in a hallway- then walk through a laundry room/area to get to the stairs, as our room was on the second floor. Also, we were given a room with 2 double beds, and I would have preferred a queen or king bed. One of the beds in the room was awful- we just sunk into it (felt as though it was 30 years old). We decided on the other bed. This hotel needs desperate updating.
