Villa Anakao Mauritius

I really like the hotel. Great customer service, quiet location, excellent breakfast and dinner. Highly recommended to stay at Villa Anakao when you visit Mauritius

This property is amazing, quirky and definitely not a run of the mill resort. Be on island time and enjoy.

While the room was nice, we had two experiences that soured the stay. My gold and diamond wedding band was left on the credenza (swollen fingers from travel) and disappeared. Requests to see if it was found were not answered beyond "I will check and get back to you", 7 weeks later and still no response, despite another inquiry. We arrived after 2 days of travel and elected to not eat that evening. The offer of a fruit plate was made and we gratefully accepted. 2 saucers with about 4 thin slices of fruit each (both plates would not have amounted to one full serving of fruil) arrived. We were underwhelmed at the time, but on leaving, we were charged $5USD/plate. We had assumed such a poor showing was complementary...our mistake. I explained that is was leaving a bad taste for our experience, so in the end we were only charged for one. The room was nice, however, the experience in total was not.

villa needs a bit more general maintance, shower head broken, smelt of stail water ,breakfast was very limited,

No nearby restaurants, and although dinner is available onsite, it needs to be ordered in advance each morning something that was not communicated in advance. So as we checked in at 5pm, we were lucky that there were still available entrees or we would have been out of luck.

The staff were amazing and the hotel is so beautiful. I wish my stay was longer. But then, I’ll definitely be back.
