Hedland Hotel

Clean room and with nice space for solo or couple. Got the room with tub in. Room with ocean front sea view. Parking all over the accommodation. overall a good time in the hedland hotel and recommend other travellers or business associates to stay here.

Reception was very efficient and were greeted by a smile. Logan was on the desk who was helpful and efficient. He had good local knowledge of the area. The room was clean and well presented and we had a comfortable stay. Additionally it was a good size with an ensuite.

This room was incredibly manky ! Looks like it was last refurbished in the late 1970’s. The paint is bubbled off the walls everywhere. Has the old “popcorn” ceilings. There was grime in the grout between the 70’s tiles that looked like vomit had been wiped from the tiles but not out of the wide grout lines. The toilet smelt like it had just been used, but at least the toilet paper was folded over, as if that was a fancy touch ! There was not a makeup service which is fine, actually preferred in this instance however someone entered the room during the day, without authorisation obviously and turned the light off. Nice mouldy shower curtain Found two dead cockroaches on the floor, without even looking. The mattress was so old it was half collapsed & the sheets were stained. Grotty as heck but other than that, it was … erm … Putrid !!!

My strong advice for anyone considering The Hedland is to only book it as an absolute last resort. Port Hedland is primarily a mining town, and when there's construction or a shutdown, accommodation can become incredibly scarce. This scarcity is, unfortunately, why The Hedland can get away with charging $469 for a two-star room. The hotel itself is visibly old and desperately needs a complete refurbishment. It felt dirty, and the facilities are clearly deteriorating. Beyond the room, there are numerous frustrations. As others have mentioned, the Wi-Fi is unreliable at best. Dining is also a challenge; the restaurant doubles as a local pub, so it's frequently full, leaving no tables in the main area. The food prices are extortionate for a pub setting, with fish and chips costing $32. Don't even think about ordering a steak unless you've pre-approved it with your bank manager! Ultimately, this hotel charges what it wants because it knows that once all other accommodation in town is booked, they become the only option left. Plan your trip better and book elsewhere for much better value.

Great! I have stayed here now and then for work, staff are always great. Meals are the best part of my stay. Best views in town.

Wonderful place to stay, very comfortable beds and great meals. The staff are also very attentive. Lovely view of the ocean from our room and also the restaurant. All that is needed is some Exit Mould in the shower and basin. Otherwise you can’t go past it.
