Stayed here in February and was really looking forward to our 4th visit to Port Fairy. We have had various types of accommodation in town and just out of town centre. We do try and vary it up. Well…….this was by far the most disappointing. And not cheap! We were in what they call the Penthouse although it’s just top floor of two. Advertised as a B and B (? ), all it provided was tea bags, coffee sticks and sugar and salt. Not even a small container of long life milk as every other accommodation place provides. It was tired and unclean, with layers of dust under the TV that was months old. Furniture was chipped and scratched and so mismatched. All the timber venetians need a good clean too! It needs to be painted inside and out, in fact just needs a complete overhaul It is in a good position but would I go back……..NO. Drop your price or renovate.

We have stayed at this property perhaps six times. It was tired the first time, and with nothing done in a decade or so, it is now so shabby as to be an insult to renters, who pay a high price. The property has great bones, but the complete lack of maintenance over many years means it is now a very tarnished jewel. It needs a re-paint inside and out, and oh the carpet - slum standard. Reviews by others dating back years complain about the carpet - it is the same carpet in 2023! With a repaint and new carpet it can be restored to the status of a premium property.
