Travelodge by Wyndham Port Elgin

We had a great experience in July since the room we had was quiet and clean so we decided to come back for August vacation. Yet, unfortunately, we got bitten by bed bugs! We had to bag our luggage and throw our clothes in the dryer immediately when we returned which was a nightmare. We won't be coming back to this motel in the future.

Very good size rooms, delicious breakfast, friendly staff, comfortable beds, and very clean rooms are some of the features of the motel. Location is ok, on the main street, lots of restaurants to choose from.

This location is in such a great spot, but they cheap out on the pillows. You can’t cheap out on the pillows. I even brought this concern up after the first night stay and we were brought to storage room to pick out some news ones- there were only 2 left and they were horrible also. We thought it may be because it was a dog friendly room, but other folks staying there who had dog friendly rooms also had lovely pillows provided :( Plus, I keep things very very clean even having pups in the room. The location seemed a bit scuzzy - there were some sus characters hanging about in the parking lot. We were worried as our trailers are open and equipment not locked up- this did not allow peace of mind. But nothing happened - thank goodness.

The room was very comfortable, lots of fresh towels and supplies in the washroom. The beds were clean and comfortable, with lots of pillows. There was a table and 2 sitting chairs, as well as a desk and chair in the room. The fridge and microwave were clean. Would definitely stay there the next time we are in Port Elgin.

The property was in a general state of disrepair. Shower and tv broken, photos crooked on the walls, air conditioner from the early 90’s.

The property is in a good location and it’s clean it just needs a lot of updating
