Saltwater Luxury Apartments

Let me preface this review by saluting the new (as in months), manager Paul. I think the poor bloke has been handed a sh*t sandwich! Firstly, finding reception is an epic event in itself. Stairs, a mulitude of them to reach the "Penthouse" apartments or any other apartments. Do not book here if you are aged, have any mobility issues or are wheelchair mobile. NO LIFTS! The apartments resemble the photos but that is simply a description of a layout. We stayed 3 nights and were thrilled to escape. Fans rotating, just. 2nd bedroom hot without the aircon on, freezing when it is in the main bedroom. Broken toilet seats, broken toilet brush handle, no reasonable supplied toiletries, plants on balconies look like they are friendless. Simply not an enjoyable overall experience. Position on Macrossan Street is terriffic, right in the action on main is the highlight but I would recomend other choices. A high price to pay for that bonus. Paul was extremely friendly and helpful but I fear he has a mountain to climb, good luck mate. Won't be returning.

We enjoyed a week in Port Douglas, staying at Saltwater. The hosts made a great effort to make sure we had the best experience and we enjoyed time with other residents too. They seemed to knew everyone in the town and were able to introduce us to good eating and social experiences. They did an awesome job setting up bookings for the Carnivale which was on at the time. We found it through personal recommendation and that seems the experience of lots of guests - so you can't go wrong! It's a great spot and well worth staying at: book direct!

This was our 3rd time staying in PD, first time at Saltwater - which was absolutely amazing. The location right in town on Macrossan is awesome. It is right in the middle of everything, but still very quiet in the room. So much easier than grabbing a shuttle all the time if you stay at the resorts out of town which we had done previously. Staff were very kind, kids loved the pool. Apartments are spacious with high ceilings and a nice outlook from balcony. We will be back!

Great apartments, a few little things showing their age, and some of the light switches need a look at, but overall a lovely stay right in the middle of town. Definitely recommend.

The apartment was very spacious which was great for a family of four adults, however the apartment we were in was very tired. The kitchen items were basic, which restricted some cooking. eg: no fish slice, and other items. There is no toilet door in the ensuite, in the main bedroom, however you can close the bedroom door. The pool and surrounding area was great, very clean and tidy, good layout. The location was superb, walking distance to restaurants, supermarket, shops, etc. The ladies onsite were very helpful and friendly. We don't agree that this is now a luxury apartment, other than the 3 brm space.
