Great place to stay at a reasonable price. 2 blocks from the Main Street 2 blocks from the beach.

We enjoyed a three-night stay at Port Douglas Retreat. We chose this accommodation based on the good reviews, perfect location and excellent pricing. We arrived later than expected (thanks to a delayed flight) but still had personal service on arrival, directing us into an undercover carpark and also to our room. The apartment was small but immaculate with everything we needed for a short stay. The basic kitchen facilities were really handy. The location was perfect - just a few minutes' walk from Macrossan Street and Four Mile Beach. It was also a short walk to the only vegan eatery in town (Bam Pow), part of the reason we chose to stay here (and Bam Pow was amazing, highly recommended for vegans and non-vegans alike). Despite travelling during school holidays, the retreat never felt busy and was very quiet overnight so we had a truly relaxing stay here. For the price, we were very pleased with our choice to stay at Port Douglas Retreat - the location was spot on, it was clean and friendly, and we got to indulge in fine vegan food just around the corner!

Resort arranged our transfers from Cairns which was great. The resort had all we required. Room was clean and airconditioner on when we arrived. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom renovated and adequate for our needs. We would have liked a small table. Coffee table was too low for us to eat at. Pool very clean and much appreciated given the humidity. BBQs very clean.

The name says it all - retreat
A lovely welcome from David and Joyce and just drop your bags and relax
A beautiful garden pool with bbq easy stroll to beach shops or marina all fully walkable
Non smoking and quiet respectful guests the whole time we were there even over New Years
Cannot fault the cleaners or maintenance will definitely stay again

Good location, bed needs improving.
A good location close to the Main Street and Marina. Nice pool.
Simple room facilities, disappointing about the uncomfortable bed. Two singles joined but a large ridge in the bed that was very prominent making for a restless night sleep.

Well located and good vibes.
We have stayed here before and enjoyed its location, friendliness plus it's lovely pool and gardens. This is why we rebooked for this year.The ease of being able to walk to 4 mile beach, marina or to the main street (Macrossan) in a few minutes makes it a great choice for us. The property fulfills our needs in terms of amenities, service and price.
