Beautiful historic house set in lovely grounds by the port. Spacious comfy rooms, some with their own verandas. A nice swimming pool. Loads of places to relax outside, or sit and eat. Good food and great service. Literally the only downer was virtually no wifi or internet access.

We have been coming to Le Manoir on Port Cros for some forty years, save last year when we heard the chef had walked out and the standard in the restaurant had collapsed. We had been told that all was well now with a new chef and waiters in place. We arrived for lunch a few days ago to be greeted by two surly waiters. The food was a huge disappointment. The lamb was chewy and fatty. It was sold as confit, which it wasn't. They ruined the sea bass and dorade. Overcooked, including the vegetables. The meal was expensive as normal, but when we expressed our disappointment, it was clear the waiters were indifferent to our feedback This restaurant used to be one of our favourites in the world but it is the last time we will go there ending an era which had been filled with so many happy memories.

We have known the island for years and it is the place to be for eating fresh fish. We thought we would move up a gear by dining for the first time at the Restaurant du Manoir. Beautiful view of the harbor of Port Cros at sunset. Uncomfortable chairs, camping tables covered with tablecloths, dirty and dying parasols, horseflies (even if the restaurant has nothing to do with it), Not an olive, not a peanut, The tuna tataki starter was well served and good, The fresh fish for one person: 600g x 12€, we gave up because of a big doubt about the freshness of the goods and the preparation given the attendance mainly of half-board customers, a piece of fatty and ribbed lamb, the vegetarian dish was okay but nothing more. The 2 scoops of ice cream for 11€ without a wafer, without whipped cream, without a flower or a leaf… The staff was attentive and kind, but this first experience will be the last. No comparison with Anse de Port Cros, which remains the island's safe bet.

The Manor is a magical, timeless place on a preserved island with extraordinary biodiversity. The property has been owned since 1926 by the same family, who are absolutely charming and will go out of their way to make your stay unforgettable. Very generous breakfasts are served in the gardens or on the terrace overlooking the sea. The cuisine is delicious and plentiful, with the added bonus of an extraordinary sunset as a spectacle during the evening meal. The staff is attentive and very caring. In conclusion, the Manor is truly a place with a soul, highly recommended for an authentic and unforgettable stay.

A dream stay in this timeless place! Exceptional cuisine, refined Mediterranean dishes, personalized, delicate and attentive service... without a doubt the most poetic and aesthetic place on the Mediterranean coast! We are under its spell, enchanted! We are returning in September with our parents and children. Exceptional!

We came for the first time in 1995 I think and stayed regularly with our son every summer for about ten years, with later stays more spaced out, the last one in August with our son and his wife. Each time the same pleasure: total change of scenery! Kindness and availability of the staff, South beach almost to yourself before 10am in the morning or from 6pm in the evening, fish swimming in the middle of you, unspoiled nature with its pines, strawberry trees, holm oaks, palm trees and this blue sky!!! And in the evening, a gourmet dinner with a view of Bagaud and a sunset with changing colors. Without forgetting of course the teak deckchairs under the eucalyptus trees in the meadow and, of course, a very beautiful swimming pool! Just one small downside: the laminate parquet flooring in the corridor serving rooms 1 to 6; what a shame! The hotel and its charm would benefit from a beautiful solid wood parquet floor that would change the atmosphere of this corridor... Likewise, a little renovation of the reception - which really looks dated - would be welcome!

Easily the worst restaurant experience of our lives. With our group of 12, we received terrible service, eating tasteless food at ridiculous prices, absolutely unjustifiable. The staff served desserts that no one had ordered, at gourmet prices for Monoprix products... But the worst part is that they had the audacity to insult us and speak badly behind the backs of our non-French guests on the way out. Well, all this after paying the bill of ~€1300. Ridiculous. It's still an incredible place, but unfortunately not worth stopping for dinner. Absolutely disappointing.

As for the old-fashioned charm, this is a truly dilapidated hotel where we stayed this summer. Electrical wires are exposed throughout the hotel (including in the garden) and raise the question of safety. After two days, we were informed that the hotel pool must be closed indefinitely for safety and hygiene reasons... it will not reopen by the end of our stay. The nearest beach is a 30-minute walk away, so the possibility of cooling off was largely compromised. Hot water for showers is variable: we are told to be patient. The walls of the red lounge located at the back of the reception are literally falling apart and this is just a sample of the general state of the hotel. The room did not have air conditioning, so we slept with the window open, which allowed a rat to spend the night with us and nibble on a shoe... certainly, the fauna and flora must be preserved but a minimum must be respected for the comfort of the customers! No, it is not a question of charm but rather of dilapidation which would merit an inspection by the authorities. There are other establishments (such as on the island of Porquerolles) which have managed to preserve the charm of these old buildings while ensuring a high standard, and this, in an equally enchanting setting.
