This location is beautiful on what looks like an ancient volcanic outcropping with waves pounding against the cliff all day and night. Every Villa is positioned along the cliff face facing the ocean. All night, you listen to the waves, and there is a very calm private beach with canoes and paddle boats. The hotel is not brand new, but the rooms are nice and comfortable, and the amenities and the health club are up to date. There is a lovely restaurant with a pool table and a screening room if you want to wait out a rain storm. We had nice massages at the spa, but it is a small hotel, very intimate, very quiet and with very few guests. Do not expect a big party atmosphere. I strongly recommend going on a rafting trip for at least one day. The restaurant is very nice, and regarding the area, you will be most pleased, culinarily speaking if you are open to eating local food. One of the major benefits of staying here is the excellent staff expertly Guided by the general manager Dwight. Everyone was so kind and helpful throughout our stay and during our booking. The office staff were very accommodating working out our room over the phone, and when our transfer from the airport broke down they made heroic efforts to make sure we were taken care of. akeem at the beach and Fiona at the restaurant where both lovely, gracious considerate and kind with my children. I forgot his name, but there's a nice man who will cut coconuts down for freshness coconut water whenever you ask. The most confusing thing about this hotel is how it is listed by TripAdvisor. So I'm going to break it down for you right now. The hotel is a small luxury hotel of the which is now part of the Hilton Hotel benefits program. As a Hilton Diamond member the Trident provided me all the Hilton benefits I would expect. the guests stay in private Villas along the cliff. Trident Castle is a beautiful older structure on the property that is used for events, very cool, but it will feel like a tropical version of The Overlook when it is not being used, as a Kubrick fan this was a benefit for me, and made for a great photo shoot. The Veranda is a restaurant at the hotel and it was the only open restaurant while we were there, but the chefs will cook you whatever you are in the mood for if they have the ingredients.. Local food is on the more casual side, but the staff can advise you on where to go. Hope that's helpful!
