Hotel was nice overall. Front desk manager was very interactive; less so from the desk clerks but all were friendly. Location is adjacent to the I-10 and near several fast food eateries. Room was large and outlined well in posts below. Closet space was adequate. There were blackout curtains which were necessary in the afternoon. Downside for our room was a musty aroma but I couldn't tell if it as from cleaning supplies, the carpets or both. It wasn't a dealbreaker but I like hotel rooms that have a neutral/no odor smell that usually tells me how clean the carpets might be. The humidity is quite high in Baton Rouge but that should have no strong bearing on the inside of the room when windows are closed. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. A/C worked well. I did not find a room safe in our particular room. It would be nice to have to lock up valuables. The living area could use a few more lights to brighten up the room at night; and the use of cool white just about everywhere except in the kitchen makes the room less cozy but that's a matter of personal preference. There was a flat screen TV with cable to stay entertained. Wi fi was also available in the rooms that worked well with adequate speed. There was a kitchenette with nice size and clean refrigerator, sink with new sponges and soap, dishwasher, microwave, paper towels, cooking pans, plates, bowls; all the things one needs for a long-term stay. These proved to be great even for our four night stay. The bathroom was spotless, well-lighted, and roomy. Drains on the bathtub and sink worked well. The towels were adequate. The hotel does housekeeping every other day so that may be why the towel supplies were better than most hotels. Bath uses pump bottles attached to the wall, which were really nice. Sink area uses bar soap and a few lotion amenities. Ventilation fan exhausted air adequately. The morning breakfast was above average. It was a not breakfast everyone morning with scrambled eggs, a breakfast meat, hot breakfast sandwiches, potatoes, waffle maker, fresh whole fruit, yogurt variety, cold cereals, instant grits, milk, orange and apple juice, hot coffee from a pump urn, flavored creamers, packaged cinnamon rolls and muffins, breads and toaster. No complaints having ate breakfast at the hotel four days in a row. Shared eating areas were kept clean by staff. The pool looked nice but due to the outside heat the water was too warm and I did not see anyone use the pool at all while I was there. There was a small exercise gym with treadmills and other standard equipment to stay fit. The parking area was well-lit and seemed safe to park your vehicle at night. The hotel is next to I-10 so the southside of the hotel could get traffic noise so I would suggest you request a room on the north side away from the freeway noise and view. So I give a 4 dot rating due to the unidentifiable aroma. Overall, the hotel is very clean and well-maintained.
