Good service, friendly staff, good breakfast, the hotel is next to the pier, facing the Atlantic Ocean, the location is excellent, in the city center, it is convenient to eat. The downside is the parking fee, 12 euros per night. The hotel has a waiter to park the car with a good attitude.

Although I am not a world traveler, this hotel was absolutely the best I have ever stayed in. I was there for a week with a large group and I was treated like royalty. If you are looking for cleanliness, comfort, good food and best of all the people who take care of you, please stay here. Above everything that is first class in this hotel it is the people who work there that make it so wonderful. To Antonio at the reception desk, all of his workmates, to Rui and all of the bellman, to the staff at breakfast and the staff at the bar and lobby restaurant, excellent is the only word that comes to mind. They treat you with the utmost respect, kindness and humor and are the heart of the hotel. Obrigada!

We had an excellent one week stay at the Grand Hotel Acores Atlantico. We were with a group of ninety adults and I did not hear of one complaint from anyone all week. The staff were all genuinely friendly and efficient and all spoke very good English. Rooms were very comfortable - a little small by American standards but fine by European standards. No noise intrusion from the street or adjacent rooms. The beds were very comfortable and linens and towels luxurious. Breakfast was an excellent hot and cold buffet with optional choices for cooked to order omelets and special coffees. We had one excellent meal in the Balcony dining room, but there is a great selection of restaurants, bars, cafes and take-outs along the pier in front of the hotel, or a couple of hundred meters down the road. The hotel's Vapore bar serves drinks and lighter meals in the lobby area or the covered terrace our front. This is an excellent choice for touring this beautiful island. Plenty of parking available in the hotel lot (Euro 15 /24 hours) or reasonable pay/hour underground parking in front of the hotel. Street parking is free from 8pm - 8 am. The beauty of this island cannot be overstated. Big bloom hydrangeas and yellow ginger lilies grow wild along the roads everywhere and as undergrowth to the dramatic japanese cedars clinging to the shear walls of the calderas. Be sure to enjoy steeping in one of the several hot springs. We will be back and we will stay at the Atlantico.

From the minute we arrived we were made very welcome. Every member of staff was very helpful gave great tips on what to do where to go etc. room was amazing and the bed wow the best I’ve slept in for years. The cocktails and food were amazing. Even the car valet was brilliant very quick service and each day we received 2 bottles of water in the car. Can’t wait to return

Great service, nice people a real 5 star. Valet parking wort the price. Breakfast bar fully loaded. We ate twice at the bar restaurant and food was great. Clean large room Comfortable beds. Awesomely quiet hotel well insonorise even street front.

The hotel is pleasant but very average for a five-star hotel. It is not particularly charming. The staff were excellent, and the location of the hotel. The hotel was used extensively by tour groups. Breakfasts were good, with lots of variety.
