Myself and my wife were very happy with the Sao Miguel Park Hotel. I cannot comment on value for money as the hotel was part of a package holiday which included activities everyday, but in terms of pure hotel it made for an excellent say. Loved our room (307) which got the evening sun and it was a pleasure to sit on it's balcony after being out all day. Used the pool and it was very good and welcome when we returned from our trips. It does lose the sun that side of the hotel late afternoon, but not an issue. We found our room/bed comfortable and not outdated. Breakfast was fine, not the best we have ever had, but perfectly okay and kept me happy until my next meal. We did not use the dinner option (did think the buffet offering was expensive), as the town is close and has many excellent restaurants to choose from. The little we asked anything of reception we found all were friendly and helpful, as seems true of everyone on the island. I would be very happy to go back to this hotel in the future.

It is the best hotel for the whole trip. The hotel staff are warm and the room is very clean. I stayed for three nights, and the new bedding was replaced every day. The room has a good view.

So far the best hotel of this year's Azores trips. Beautiful, very clean room with view of the port. Great Spa! Good breakfast and extremely friendly staff. One point of criticism: like in so many hotels, there is no enough possibility to dry wet clothes. On the Azors it will keep it wet from above. And it would be nice if you could dry shoes and jackets.

I stayed in The Lince for several days in January, 2024. The very good impression met me at the front doors and stayed with me all the time. The personnel is so polite and helpful, that it was like visiting friends. Food on breakfasts is excellent. If you need to eat something during the day, you are welcome to have pleasure too. And dinners were extraordinary. It is possible to go to the restaurant on dinner even if you don’t stay here. And I recommend to eat here and enjoy excellent dishes, great serving and selection of very tasty wine. Definetely I will return to stay here again on my next trips to Azores. And I‘d like to visit the Lince in continental Portugal, when it is opened this year.

The complex is located in the tranquil village of Capela, a quarter drive from the capital and the airport. A car is a must, but you need it to visit this beautiful island. Our 2-kamerappartement was very spacious and clean. The beds were fine with choice from two kitchens. The hotel is very fully equipped with oven, microwave, Nespresso device (cups for payment) and water cooker with free tea. With no cleaning, you will receive a €3 voucher per day to spend in the restaurant. However, €3 is not worth much in this restaurant, since prices are huge: a cappuccino costs €3.50 here while the prices for coffee are around €1.20 on the island you need to ask yourself for the vouchers, The hotel was very comfortable and it was very comfortable and it was very comfortable and it was very comfortable. The sauna, fitness room and the indoor and outdoor pool were not used, so I can't evaluate this. Sufficient parking space. Albergo lontano dal centro del paese di Capelas, raggiungibile a piedi attraverso una panoramica strada sterrata (priva di illuminazione pubblica, e quindi non percorribile dopo il tramonto), oppure rasentando i muretti in pietra lungo una strada carrozzabile dove le vetture sfrecciano veloci… L’albergo offre alcune attività, per chi desidera godere appieno di una vacanza rilassante, come ad esempio una piscina esterna circondata da molti lettini a disposizione degli ospiti, palestra interna dotata di numerosi attrezzi, una piscina interna, ed una sala giochi con tavoli per giocare a carte o a dama, con anche un tavolo da biliardo (a seconda dell’attività scelta in sala giochi, ci potrebbero essere costi da dover regolare in reception / si veda descrizione foto). Sono a disposizione degli ospiti, gratuitamente, degli ampi teli di spugna da utilizzare in piscina. Nelle camere, a disposizione gratuita ci sono bottiglie d’acqua, bollitore e bustine di tisane e zucchero. Ci sono anche cialde di caffè Nespresso, a pagamento extra di 0,75€ cadauna. L’albergo ha un’anima “green”: oltre a proporre agli ospiti un cambio non quotidiano della biancheria da bagno (che, comunque, viene effettuata se richiesto), premia coloro che non necessitino di far rassettare ogni giorno la camera da letto ed il bagno, con un voucher del valore di 3,00 Eur da utilizzare al bar dell’albergo o per le bevande ai pasti in ristorante. Se si preferisce una pulizia quotidiana, bisogna dirlo in reception ogni giorno entro le ore 12.00 (ed in questo caso si “perde” il voucher). In caso contrario, la camera non viene rassettata, e alla sera si può chiedere il voucher il cui valore può essere scalato immediatamente dalla consumazione di bevande al pasto, da regolare con pagamento diretto o con addebito alla camera. Le stanze sono ampie, dotate di balcone, con pavimento in listelli “simil-legno” (no moquette). Letti ampi e con materassi ergonomicamente rigidi al punto giusto. Poche prese a muro per ricaricare, contemporaneamente, telefoni mobili e p.c. od altri dispositivi elettronici. Rete Wifi gratuita a disposizione degli ospiti, ma priva di password di sicurezza. Per chi si sposta in automobile, l’albergo dispone di due piazzali di parcheggio, interni alla struttura ma scoperti (parcheggio non interrato). Colazione e cena a buffet: ampia scelta di piatti, ben curati, e variati tutti i giorni. Servizio attento e non assillante del personale di sala che libera il tavolo dalle stoviglie usate. Personale di reception cortese, che parla anche inglese. E’ un albergo nel quale ci siamo trovati bene e che consigliamo.

This apart-hotel complex is absolutely beautiful, flowering bushes everywhere with a lovely scent. Our apartment was large and airy and had a great private terrace on the first floor (2nd floor if you’re North American). It really was a home from home with a full dining area with table and chairs and lounge area with sofa, soft rug and tv. The main double bedroom was upstairs with an anteroom having a sofa/pull out bed for children or guests 3&4. Lots of storage in the bedroom but there was a distinct lack of hangers in the wardrobe but loads of drawer space. The kitchen is adequate enough for simple meals (no oven) with a twin hob and microwave, kettle and toaster, and a selection of pots and pans. We managed really well. The hotel provides breakfast 8am - 10am if you want it at 12euros per person. We didn’t try this option. Housekeeping are amazing and come every day! Everything is clean and beds are made. Towels can be changed daily if you like. For a self-catering holiday we found that a lot was provided in the apartment for us: washing up liquid, washing up sponge, washing up cloth and a tea towel. These are replenished and changed as needed. There is also toilet roll, shower gel and hand wash provided in the bathroom which was lovely - again, replenished when needed or on request. The complex gardens are beautiful and well-tended. The pool looked lovely and well-cared for, however we didn’t try it out. There seems to be a hot tub in a wooden building off the pool area - we took a look but it was grubby and the water had floating debris. I’m sure they would have sorted it out if we had asked, but we were out and about discovering the island every day. You definitely need to hire a car for the duration of your stay here as there isn’t any bus route nearby and taxis would be very expensive to get around the island. HANDY TIP: If you’re picking up your hire car on landing at the airport and driving to Quinta da Santana - to get into the complex there is an electronic gate that requires a remote control. When you first arrive, drive past the big metal gate and find the next smaller (pedestrian) gate. Put the hazard lights on in the car and get out to ring the bell. This alerts reception who will come and open the gate for you or just give you a remote straight away so you can drive into the complex. We had a horrendous time of looking and looking and going around and around the roads trying to find the entrance!! We didn’t know about the need to ring the pedestrian gate bell (face palm!) The reception staff are lovely and very accommodating and speak English very well. I’m not sure what other languages they can speak. The area that Quinta da Santana is situated in is the one fly in the ointment….it seems really run down and the road they are situated on is all full of industrial buildings and commercial businesses. Further exploration within Santana uncovers the grubbier side of agricultural life with its local working class community.

We stayed 5 nights in this hotel. Let's go one by one. Room: There was not exhaust system in the toilet. The smell of the sheets was awful since the very first day. The design was nice. Cleaning service was a joke... We had to ask up to three times for making up the room... Every day was a drama knowing when it was going to be done. Breakfast: A 5 star hotel does not deserve such a bad breakfast. Orange juice was not even fresh. Spanish Ham was awful(really low quality and bakery... just speechless) Restaurant: Extremely short variety of dishes. Again, not at expected level of 5 star hotel. Facilities: There were many rooms yet to be finished and not completely built. Surroundings are really ugly.... Additional comments: We saw many couples&families who had a booking in the frontdesk with no room available... Hotel was offering other room in other hotels at 17km!! We went to play to the pool (billiard) and there was a leakage on the ceiling... A new hotel with leakage??? Summarizing, the best of this hotel was the staff ...Poor them, trying to ”extinguish” all the fires caused by the hotel & hotel management. Specially front desk staff: Thx for doing your best! I provide 3/5 star coz I want to believe that they will fix all this issues in a short time and it will be good by then.
