There is a problem with the name of this hotel. How dare you call it a villa? It can only be called a country house. Except that it is close to the entrance of Pompeii, the rest is lackluster. The house was extremely humid and always filled with odors. There were more ants, flies, and mosquitoes than any other. For two nights, the mosquitoes kept me awake. It is said that breakfast is included, but it is monotonous and repetitive every day and there is nothing to eat. Because there was nowhere to eat dinner in the remote area, I was forced to eat at a B&B. However, the meals were almost the same for three days, so I charged a lot of money. I was especially speechless when I left because the B&B was far away from the train station and public transportation was inconvenient. Our train was earlier, so we had no choice but to ask the boss to send us to the station. He readily agreed and said he would not pay for it. Only later did we find out that he only gave it to us. I just found a taxi and the fare was not a penny less. It turns out that good people can do this!

An excellent place to stay if you want an authentic and friendly experience. The place is well positioned and very clean. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. We found it excellent value for money. Food wise - the breakfast was good. We did also have the evening meal which was delicious. My son is 8 and is a picky eater but they checked to see what food we didn’t like the morning before which I thought was lovely. All courses were lovely - very filling! My son enjoyed the pasta and the meat courses. On our last night - we had snacked throughout the day so weren’t too hungry so we purchased some food at a supermarket which we bought back. They kindly prepared some noodles for my son which he wanted to eat that night. It was like staying with friends - nothing was too much trouble. My son did also use the pool which was a very welcome option to have.

La Villa Franca was a wonderful place to base ourselves as we explored Pompeii, Herculaneum, Naples and the beautiful Amalfi coast. It’s small and friendly with a welcome outdoor pool. Our en-suite room was very clean and comfortable. Lorena and Pepe are not only the perfect hosts but excellent chefs as well. We ate there four evenings out of seven. The food is authentic Italian fare of the highest quality. Four course meals are served for an excellent price. One of the many outstanding dishes was slow cooked beef and pork ragu which just melted in the mouth. Local wines are poured in generous measures. What makes this place so special are the owners who invest their time in getting to know the guests. It was a memorable experience and one we highly recommend.

Lovely comfy rustic hotel. Family run so warm friendly atmosphere. Exceptional service, great home cooked authentic food. Location is good its easy enough to explore the area by train. Loved every minute. Would not hesitate to book again.

Wij (vader en zoon) zijn net terug van een paar fantastische dagen in Villa Franca. Ontzettend aardige eigenaren voor wie niets teveel is. Het avondeten (je kunt vantevoren aangeven of je 's avonds wilt dineren) is heerlijk en echt Italiaans. Ga hier zeker een keertje dineren, je krijgt er geen spijt van! Wanneer je 's ochtends op pad gaat, kun je lunchbroodjes en water meekrijgen. 's Middags is het heerlijk bijkomen in het zwembad, met lekkere ligbedjes erom heen. Kamers zijn eenvoudig, maar prima. Ook fijne en praktische tips gekregen over de omgeving. Voor iedereen die in de omgeving van Pompei/Napels/Sorrento wil verblijven is Villa Franca een dikke aanrader!

We visited the restaurant after a very hot and tiring visit to the Pompeii ruins. I am so glad we walked a little further away from the obvious eating choices opposite the ruins. We were asked our dietary requirements and then presented with a variety of courses of home cooked meals. It was the best food I have had in Italy and so reasonably priced. Could not recommend it enough or praise the host who was lovely. Thank you

Excellent séjour !!! Située à 10 mn à pieds de l'entrée principale des ruines de Pompéi, la Villa Franca est un bonheur à vivre quand les trains ne passent pas.... La maison a subit les effets du temps mais l'équipe est hyper gentille et totalement dévouée à votre bien être. Les repas du soir sont fabuleux et excellents avec des produits frais et très bien préparés. Ne cherchez pas ailleurs. Nous avons eu un accueil formidable avec une gentillesse incomparable tout au long de notre séjour, ce qui change vraiment des hôtels impersonnels. Un grand merci à l'équipe de la Villa Franca.
