Without mentioning other places, just one small detail, the hotel is by the lake, there are many wild animals such as monkeys and squirrels, but there is really no mosquito. The hotel has everything to be great but staff is not yet trained to deal with client.
I had in this place the worst experience ever from the time I’ve arrived in the hotel.
The receptionist was rude to me, we had to escalate the situation and then manager come to solve it but it totally messed our night with the reception misunderstanding.

Das Restaurant mit Hotel ist sehr schön gelegen in der Nähe zum Museum. Wunderbarer Ausblick mit fantastischem Essen und Service auf 5 Sterne Niveau. Das Personal ist mehr als umsichtig. Eine klare Empfehlung. Preise sind dem Niveau angepasst. Das Hotel hat wenige Zimmer.

EKHO Lake House Polonnaruwa is a true hidden gem in Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle. The setting is idyllic, nestled beside the beautiful Parakrama Samudra, offering stunning views and peaceful vibes. But what made our stay truly unforgettable was the incredible staff. Mr. Nuwan, the Resident Manager, went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and happy. He even personally checked in on us during meals. Front office staff Wasantha and Isuru were so helpful and knowledgeable – always ready to assist with a smile and provide great travel tips. Priyantha, the Restaurant Manager, deserves special praise. His service was five-star; he managed his team with elegance and made sure every dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. The breakfast and dinner menus were varied and delicious, and the lakeside dining atmosphere made it even more special. Our room was cozy, clean, and full of character. We loved the quiet and calm environment, perfect after a day of exploring ancient ruins. EKHO Lake House truly combines old-world charm with warm hospitality. Thank you to Mr. Nuwan and his team – Priyantha, Wasantha, and Isuru – for a perfect stay. We’ll definitely return.

From the moment we arrived at EKHO Lake House Polonnaruwa, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and professionalism. Mr. Nuwan, the Resident Manager, made us feel at home right away with his genuine care and attention to detail. He regularly checked in to ensure we were comfortable and satisfied. At the front office, Wasantha and Isuru were courteous and efficient, helping us with everything from sightseeing tips to transport arrangements. They always greeted us with a smile and were happy to assist with any request. A special thanks to Priyantha, the Restaurant Manager, who ensured our dining experiences were flawless. The meals were delicious and served with such grace and care. Priyantha’s presence made every meal feel like a fine dining experience. The lake views from the property are stunning, and the peaceful atmosphere made it a perfect retreat after exploring the ruins of Polonnaruwa.
