SpringHill Suites Philadelphia Plymouth Meeting

I wanted to provide a 5 Star review for this property. However, with no swimming pool or hot tub, I couldn't quite justify that rating. That being said, a very strong 4 Star rating is well deserved. It is imperative that I start with the staff. The two ladies working the front desk were exceptional! Wilsmarie and Gabby had terrific personalities and would make any guest feel welcomed. They were a joy to interact with. The room itself was large and comfortable. Parts of it were a bit dated. But, everything was very clean and was in working condition. The bed was very comfortable and offered a nice view of the TV via its swivel stand base. The breakfast was really extensive and tasty for a complimentary meal. The property itself is well lit, offers plenty of parking and is in a safe area.

Was clean, suite was very nice but that’s what I expect. The manager must be great because the entire staff was exceptional. Every single pass by in halls, breakfast, elevator and desk prompted a friendly hello and comment from them. Compliments to all for providing caring service in an industry that rarely “cares.” Congrats to all for such top notch service.

Mediocre for a Marriott property. Plusses-Nice staff. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed. Fairly clean. They gave us a delicious cookie at check-in. Minuses-Parking lot needs asphalt work and painting. There was a trash can in the front parking lot that was overflowing with trash. It was blowing all over the parking lot. This attracts animals as well as being unsightly. Not a good start. I notified the evening/night crew twice. Still full in the morning. Took the daytime front desk worker out and showed them the mess. It was cleaned up. How many staff members drove past this coming in to work? Nobody noticed? Nobody cared? It took a guest to point this out? My bedsheet had a hole in it. The blackout drapery backing was rotting so light was showing through. The sofa was uneven, shall we say. One outlet by the floor lamp wasn't working. The bathroom sink was very slow. We had to run the air conditioner because the room was so warm. Nothing unusual about that. We like a cooler room. The AC unit was temperamental. Thermostat didn't seem to be working. We were in room 630. The gym didn't have any wipes to clean the equipment. It looked like some personal electronic device melted on the treadmill control panel. It was a black, sticky mess. Ice maker on 6 was broken and taken away for repairs, and they were kind enough to put up a sign telling us where the other ice machines were. Thank you. We stay in a lot of hotels, Marriott and other brands. I have stayed in worse. Would come again as this is a great location close to family, with the understanding that this is an older hotel with the typical issues that older hotels have.

My overall stay was good. The two major complaints I have was room service and breakfast. I stayed 4 nights and room was never cleaned and or towels replaced. I felt the breakfast was lacking. I know it was free, but didn’t even have a waffle maker. Most basic chains have that. Just oatmeal, toast, bagel and muffins. Had cereal and fresh fruit, but from the pics online I just felt it was lacking. I expected more from a Marriott chain.
