I don’t normally leave reviews but I felt a bit guilty for the way I treated your receptionist. I gave her abuse and aggressively swore at her because of the noise from the refurb. Kirsty remained calm and polite even though I was so rude to her. Throughout my stay after this happened she was still friendly to me I think she needs to be commended for this as if that was me in her shoes I would of told me where to go and kicked me out of the hotel. I had a bad day and I can only apologise I did apologise to her too. She explained that the refurb happening was on the website and I also got an email, she did move me rooms too which was a lot nicer and quieter. Kirsty was very professional and very friendly and didn’t deserve that.

This is second time we have stayed here it is a good premier inn. Nice and clean with lovely staff especially Kelly who checked us in. Even though this hotel is undergoing renovation there was no noise to desturbe guests and everywhere was kept clean.

Lovely stay, friendly receptionist who went above and beyond. Provided map for the local area and helped with ideas for what we could do during our stay. Beautifully clean room, old but notice on reception door about transformation. We will be back

This hotel was so hard to get to at night if you don’t know the area, there should be more signage and possibly a big lit up premier inn sign at the entrance. The car park is also very dark at night! I would have left a poor review regarding this as it is really bad BUT my clean room and the professional and friendly receptionist Kirsty more then made up for it! My room was really clean and I could choose to have daily housekeeping had I requested it. Kirsty greeted me with a hello and friendly smile every night of my stay she not only made the effort to have a conversation with me but also my daughter who came to pick me up. She also recommended a fabulous restaurant during my stay and I will be visiting your hotel and that restaurant again purely because of your receptionist. Thank you for a really nice stay see you soon.

Stayed here as a stop over for going further down into Devon and Cornwall the next day. Arrived and checked in with ease. Staff on front counter very helpful and were happy to assist with letting us borrow an iron and ironing board. Room was clean, teas, coffees etc all in room. no issues. A pleasant stay. Parking is free you just give in your car registration when you check in.

Brilliant hotel and staff. Huge car park which is handy not having to worry if there’s going to be a space when you arrive. Room was clean. And nice meal in the beefeater next door which was super busy. But the standout thing for me was the hotel being so family friendly. Kirsty the receptionist greeted us and asked our permission if she could give our girls a gift bag, I thought this was brilliant my children loved kirsty and said this was the “best hotel ever!!” She also showed us the children’s books that can be borrowed I thought this was a brilliant idea for families!!

As with all Premier Inns, you pretty much know what you are going to get. The staff at this one were in general quite lovely. I was staying solo due to having a Covid infection, and being unable to isolate in the shoebox house we were staying in, with my elderly mother in law who is vulnerable to infection. The bed was great, the restaurant did a good job and I was getting regular food parcels from family. A fridge would have been handy, but I managed with a plug in camping esky. They gave me a quiet room. I will say that the cleanliness of this Premier Inn was just passable…there was a grimy edge to the bathroom Lino where the mopping was obviously missed on most occasions, skirting boards were dusty and their was a fair bit of mould surrounding the bath. I am trying not to be too harsh…it isn’t often anyone spends so much time actually in a hotel room, so I supposed I noticed a bit more than usual. I asked for my room to be serviced midway through my stay, and I was disappointed that whilst they had been in and given me fresh towels and bed linen, they left the bin, which was really full, and didn’t vacuum. The reception staff dealt with the bin for me and apologised, but nonetheless, it shouldn’t have happened. Would I stay here again? Not sure. I chose it because it was the closest hotel to home, so it served a purpose, but I might have gone for something a little more up market had I not been in such a rush to get away from family.
