We stayed for 5 nights, as a base to visit areas in the South West. We were not disappointed. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Comfy bed and pillows and excellent food! Would highly recommend outstandIng Sunday roast and breakfast every morning was freshly prepared and served by the lovely Lily who could not have been more helpful. We left with the overwhelming view that The Rose and Crown is a happy place to work with a great team of staff who work hard and keep smiling! Well done to all and thank you for a wonderful relaxing stay

Stayed here for 3 nights in a king room. The room was a good size and very clean. Breakfast was good but limited for the hot course. Not as much choice as on the website. Maybe we could have had other options if we had asked? The room had french doors onto a very small courtyard. It would have been nice to have a table and chairs to sit on. There seemed to be a small problem with ants as there was ant powder outside the french doors and a few found in the room. We did arrive at the end of a heatwave though. It is advertised as in a small village. Yealmpton is a large village made bigger by new housing estates on the outskirts. The pub sits on a busy road which is noisy. It does quieten down at night but then the heavy traffic starts to build again around 6 am. A special mention to Adele who served breakfast. She works very hard. Nothing is too much trouble and she is very polite and welcoming.

Located in a beautiful village, very busy pub attached serving fantastic food and drinks. Really nice atmosphere. Room was like home from home, great tea & coffee selection. Nice Elemis bathing products . Breakfast was wonderful all cooked to order . Adele the waitress was amazing she didn’t stop and ensured everything was perfect . Would 100% recommend. A quaint Chinese opposite which I didn’t have time to try. My room was at the front . There is even a private garden to use if staying in the cottage . Can’t wait to return.

Staying local to the Rose and Crown, we did a review last week, but we liked it so much we went back again, and it deserves another big tick in the box so to speak. This time had different main courses and again it was great. Staff again great too, once again asked about allergies, nice touch. So again, we can only highly recommend it and if we are around the area again would not hesitate to go back. Many thanks.

Our first visit to the Rose and Crown where we stayed two nights and used it as a base to explore the south coast. Mothecombe beach and Burgh island being the highlights. All the staff were exceptional, warm welcoming and accommodating. Leo took us to our rooms and explained everything we needed to know about our stay there. The accommodation was adjacent to the pub in a separate building which had a lovely secluded garden at the back. The rooms were tastefully decorated and had tea and a coffee machine and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The pub itself was very pleasing to the eye and had a lovely courtyard and garden at the back which we used at night because the weather was good. There were blankets available to use if needed. The food we had whilst there was very good too. All in all a fabulous find and we will definitely return!

Very comfortable rooms in an annex separate from the main pub and a large car park. Good restaurant for an evening meal and an excellent breakfast.

Another visit to this rather good pub with EXCELLENT staff and food although sometimes the descriptions are not totally accurate! This didn't detract from the quality but did raise an eyebrow or two. Arrival was swift and friendly, the bar area very welcoming and spacious after the recent revamp and plenty of tables indoors and out. The menu was imaginative and the food very enjoyable with a good selection of wines, beers and ciders especially the St Austell stout. Spotlessly clean rooms which are well equipped, some with showers and some baths. Mine had a patio area which was nice but a little 'public' from the resident's garden but nice to sit and read there. The only disappointment was that it's next to the water pump room for the hot water so rather noisy when the pump kicks in. Unless you want a patio it's probably best not to have this room and not worth paying the 'premium' rate for. Overall an enjoyable stay and the staff, especially Kirsty, are a true credit to the St Austell brewery company.
