I'm in my 60's, done a fair bit of travelling and stayed in some great hotels but the Plettenberg is easily my favourite. From the minute we arrived we were treated perfectly. Every member of staff we encountered were relentlessly friendly helpful but also unobtrusive. The rooms were lovely and no detail was missed and with a very generous well stocked fridge. The pools were great and of course have that spectacular view of the coastline below that you can enjoy from the most comfortable sunbeds imaginable. Breakfast was excellent and food in the restaurant was on point and not at all expensive. Again service was superb. We stayed two nights but all of us wished we had booked at least one more night. I hope that we will be back. We so enjoyed our trip to South Africa but staying here was a real highlight that we will forever remember and in itself a reason to return to this beautiful country. One hopefully constructive thought. The hill up to the town was quite steep. The car park is staffed by great people and it would be wonderful if they had golf carts or something to ferry guests up the hill. Even if only during the day. As I say just a thought.

Eigentlich ein schönes Hotel in sehr guter Lage. Dafür muss man viel Geld bezahlen. Es ist angeblich ein „Adult Only“ Hotel, überall viel Kinder im Hotel im Restaurant , abends auch in der Bar. es gibt keine Möglichkeit, Ruhe zu finden. das Preis- / Leistungsverhältnis daher sehr schlecht. Nur geeignet, wenn sie überall spielende Kinder mögen.

Beautiful views and great service.
Wish we had been able to stay another night as we loved this place so much. It's in such a beautiful spot with spectacular views over the bay.
Reception staff were all so friendly and welcoming and we had a fantastic dinner in the on-site restaurant that night with great customer service too.
Worth noting, there is a fairly long and steep hill to the shops/cafes/restaurants in the town so if you had mobility issues that may be a problem (unless you were driving).

Our stay at the Plettenburg hotel was absolute magic. Letitia from the front desk made our stay memorable with her sweet kindness. The view looking out to the sea from our room was majestic and without a doubt one of the best views you’ll see along the garden route. I’ll be back…

Stayed here during Easter Weekend after being snubbed for the umpteenth time by the reservations team at Be***n Is**nd R***rt. But boy was I happy to discover this gem of an alternative. The staff was incredibly friendly, their service was expedient and overall quite pleasant. Pricey (well, it's a 5-star hotel so I was not expecting it to be cheap) but worth every penny! Highly recommend!

Superb location - you can hike in Robberg Nature Reserve, wine taste at Bramon Wine Estate, for the adventurous visit the Lawnwood Snake Sanctuary or after a morning of shopping lounge around the infinity pool with a good book and at the end the day enjoy a cocktail while watching the sunset. The hotel is beautifully decorated, staff are wonderful and food, mouth-wateringly good! You can hike, wine taste, shop or simply lounge around the

A very comfortable well appointed room with great views over the Bay. A short walk down to the beach and a manageable walk up the hill to local shops and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The infinity pool and sun deck at the Annex is the place to catch the afternoon sun with a drink or two.
