In my opinion, did not have the appropriate cleaning supplies to do dishes. Did not have proper towels, washcloth, or face towels. Was requesting a handicap room and it was very unsafe was not wheelchair accessible at all. No one that is handicap should ever go to this resort, when calling front desk what’s the time it took 234 calls to finally get someone to answer the phone. We had problem with TV reception the whole six days we were there. It was never fixed. They said they were fixing it, but it never was.

Not recommend. Really bad experience taking into consideration the value for money. The food was terrible, the variety of options are very limited and taste wasn’t really good. The service of the trucks that let you to the beach is REALLY slow so you waste a lot of time on transportation between the room and the beach. The special restaurants were not good neither. There are way better options on the location that have better food and service, for the same amount of money or even less. Entertainment was really bad too. The “Dj” wasn’t even a Dj and the activities were terrible. I wouldn’t return.

Costa Rica Vacation My stay at CONDOVAC LA COSTA was Good, the Resort was as clean and Staffs friendly. My Villa was clean, but dated with very, very old dark colored furniture with old brown curtains. The AC unit was well, However, No available WiFi in the Room at ALL and Poorly functional WiFi at the Reception/Pools areas which was disappointing. BUT, Breakfast was very good, however, Lunch and Dinner didn’t appealed appetizing to us and they had very limited varieties choices. Since only Breakfast was mandatory and we thank God as breakfast was very good. Therefore we had the opportunity to eat out in the Local Restaurants, where foods/drinks were Flavorful and of good Qualities which made us very satisfied and gave us the opportunity to really enjoy some areas in Guanacaste Costa Rica. Overall, we had a great time during our visit .

I went into this trip with low expectations after reading so many mixed reviews, but I really wanted a quiet and relaxing stay, which is exactly what Condovac provided. We scheduled the free shuttle from the airport to the resort, and were picked up on time, offered bottled water, and given some history of the area during the ride. Upon arrival, we were greeted kindly by the woman at the front desk. She made us aware of upcoming entertainment for the week, meal times, and which restaurants would be open on which days (we did not have to make reservations for anything and I’m guessing that is because it was low season). We were there two hours before check-in but the room was ready so she gave us our keys and offered to keep our luggage safe if we wanted to have lunch since it was going to be ending soon. Lunch that first day was really good. I don’t eat meat so I was pleased to find a tasty ratatouille and rice at the buffet. The room wasn’t fancy but it was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. On the first night there we realized that the hair dryer and AC weren’t working properly and reported it first thing in the morning. Both issues were repaired by the time we returned from breakfast, so we were very grateful for their promptness in addressing those issues. Water pressure in the shower was great and we always had hot water. There are breathtaking views from all over the resort and you can see many types of butterflies, birds, monkeys, and other wildlife wherever you go. The best thing about Condovac was the staff. Everyone was kind, friendly, and helpful. Some reviews I have read complain that they don’t all speak fluent English, but honestly why would you expect that when traveling to a predominantly Spanish speaking country? I was able to get by just fine with my limited Spanish. I wish I could shout out everyone who made this trip so wonderful but I didn’t get everyone’s names so I will mention that Lewis and Franklin stood out for the level of service they provided. My one complaint is that the food could use some improving. Breakfast was always good, with omelette, pancakes, potatoes, rice and beans, and delicious fresh fruits and juices. Lunch and dinner were kind of hit or miss. There was one dinner where the only vegetarian option was the salad bar, which was fine except that the lettuce was very bitter. Other times I would only have rice with bland vegetables since I wasn’t eating the meat options. One night they had a pasta with fresh basil and roasted tomatoes, which was delicious, and another night there was a very good creamy tomato soup. It wasn’t all bad, just could have been better. The desserts were always delicious as well. Over all, I was very happy with my stay at Condovac. If you’re looking for a luxury vacation, this isn’t it but if you want to relax in a beautiful setting and be provided with great service at a reasonable price, I would highly recommend this resort.

Reason for the 1 star review is that I was overcharged for our stay (deposit not factored into the billed amount), hotel shuttle left us multiple times, facility is extremely rundown awaiting to be torn down, food is low quality, for any tour booked outside the facility they make you walk to the front gate which is far away and will not let them enter so they can overcharge you for their tours, any of the play structures would be considered dangerous and unusable in the USA. Go elsewhere.

We wanted the authentic Costa Rican experience and we definitely got it here. This was not a luxury hotel, but that is not what we were looking for. What we loved: the pools, the views, the friendly and very hardworking staff, easy check in and check out, the beach, the excursions we booked, the gorgeous views, the drinks, typical home cooked style Costa Rican food (breakfast was the best), pizza, hot showers, cold ac, great WiFi in common areas, wild life, shuttle, friendly atmosphere, music, soccer tournament, convenient suite layout (for a family of 5), fast bartenders, food was always hot and coming out fresh, house keeping did a nice job, comfy beds What needs improvement: roof leaked when it rained very hard, signs letting us know which restaurants are open, more variety for dinner service, better WiFi in the rooms, kids were disappointed there was no foam party, music on the kids rides, maintain nature walking trail, signs letting you know what the evening entertainment will be, add more shuttles Overall it was a great trip and we would definitely return! Pura Vida!
