Gold by Marina

We have stayed numerous times in Gold by Marina and it's always a good experience. From the laid back poolside with bar and food to the spotless rooms and friendly staff it's simply a great holiday.

We stayed at Gold in July, and the hotel was nothing short of perfect. Location The hotel is approximately 30 minutes from the airport by transfer (we used Canary Shuttles) and we arrived just after 3pm. Our room was ready on arrival, check-in was smooth, and we were offered a complimentary glass of prosecco during the process. The hotel is ideally situated — around a 10-minute walk to the Yumbo Centre, which has a great selection of bars and restaurants, and about the same distance in the opposite direction to the beach. Room We stayed in a terraced room located on the ground floor (room 103). The space was clean, modern, and very spacious. The kitchen was well equipped, featuring cutlery, utensils, two hobs, a microwave, and a generously sized fridge. The bathroom had a large walk-in shower and included a lovely hair and body wash. The sink area was spacious too, with a plug socket nearby and a hairdryer stored underneath. The bedroom itself was bright and airy, with a very comfortable bed and even more comfortable pillows. While a small set of drawers would’ve been useful, the hanging rail came with plenty of hangers for two people. USB charging ports were available in the bedroom, so no need to bring a plug for your phone charger. Please note, the terraced rooms only get the sun for about an hour a day, typically around 11am. Pool The pool area is one of the hotel’s standout features. You can always find a sunbed, regardless of what time you arrive. Each sunbed has ample space around it, offering privacy and a relaxing atmosphere. The pool itself is clean and well maintained, with lifeguards regularly tidying and checking the area. Fresh towels are available for guests to help themselves, and used ones can simply be dropped in the laundry basket when finished. Breakfast, Restaurant & Bar Wow — just wow! Breakfast is a real highlight, with an impressive variety of options. Most items are self-serve, but eggs, pancakes, bacon, and waffles can be ordered fresh. The pool bar at lunchtime is also excellent — we tried a sandwich and a pizza, both of which were delicious. The bar offers a great selection of cocktails (the watermelon cooler and piña colada were personal favourites), as well as other drinks. Overall If you're thinking about booking Gold, go for it — you won’t regret it. We booked directly through the hotel’s website, which included a discount and turned out to be cheaper than any package deal we found. The hotel also hosts events throughout the week, including “Bubbles with the Manager” on Mondays, which features live music and prosecco, and offers a great opportunity to give feedback. The manager was friendly and approachable, and overall, we had zero complaints. We truly can’t wait to return!

Very clean basic rooms.. Could have done with a bit more storage space. Staff were excellent. The pools were beautifully clean and not crowded. Plenty of comfortable sun beds.No noise at night. My only criticism is that I couldn't get on to the Internet. Staff members tried to help but I ended up bouncing off my sister's and using my mobile data. A really nice 4* hotel.

What a fantastic hotel, From the minute we arrived to the minute we left everything was outstanding, The team members were all helpful and smiley.Nothing was too much trouble. The room was spacious, clean and stylish. Good air-conditioning, large shower and comfortable roomy bed. The food was tasty with plenty of choice and you could have various items cooked to order. The pools were spotlessly clean and the life guard did a great job on making sure there were plenty of towels and the pool area was kept clean and tidy. All in all we had a fantastic time and would return.

A truly fantastic experience! Right from arrival with a friendly efficient check in, this hotel beat expectations throughout. Exceptional cleanliness and housekeeping with a lovely sea view, great air conditioning and a big fridge. Comfortable bed and stylish room. Always easy to get a sun bed- lovely pools. The pool bar and food were great- lots of choice and good quality. Great little touches around the hotel made it a true stand out hotel in PDL.
