This is a RIU Palace hotel, but does not have the usual Palace standards or facilities. This falls well short of the normal RIU Palace standards! The sunbed problems that people mentioned in 2023 are still on-going in December 2024. The problem now in 2024 is worse than in the 2023 descriptions of the sunbeds problem. People spoke to the management, pool attendants, etc, and nothing was done about the continual sunbed problems. I even contacted RIU direct and nothing was done. People put their towels on the sunbeds late at night, throughout the night, and in the early hours of the morning. The pool attendants clean the pools at 05.00 hrs in the morning and see the towels on the beds, but they do not remove them. Also, staff see the towels on the beds throughout the night and they do not remove them. The hotel guest policy and description folder/book in the room states that items must not be left on sunbeds and if items are left, they will be removed. This policy is not implemented or followed by the hotel and guests are free to put their towels on the beds as and when they please. Many guests complained to the pool attendant, but nothing was done. A disabled German couple complained and nothing was done. Another problem is the food in the snack bar at the lobby bar. Food is brought out at night and left there all night. Hot and cold food is left there. There are no temperature monitors, and I never once saw the staff temperature checking the hot food. Burgers we're dry around the edges, chips dry and cold. Bread rolls drying on the outer, etc. These foods were still out at 06.00 hrs, the same food. My partner was sick during our stay and on the night before our departure she started with diarrhoea. On the day of our departure my partner had multiple bouts of diarrhoea and we had to contact the insurance recommendEd GP who queried food poisoning. My partner vomited at the airport before departure. We had to purchase loperamide to stop her diarrhoea. The staff here are amazing. The staff work so hard and they are so friendly and polite. The staff make this place and they work so hard! The one alacarte restaurant is definitely not alacarte standard. The food was terrible. The risotto with calamari on the top was dried up. The squid was solid as a rock, some was like dust. It was inedible. We have eaten RIU alacarte restaurants in resorts before and they have been fantastic. This is by far the worst resort alacarte I have ever been to. What maddens me most is the fact that the RIU representative that message me back via email denied that towels were left out, even though I have photographic evidence. But it is clearly proven by the previous reviews, some from 2023 that state towels and items are left put and the management did nothing. The previous reviews prove that I am telling the truth and that the RIU representative is lying. Overall this was a BIG let down for my partner and I. We spent a lot of money on this holiday. This was a get
