Review for Hotel Macondo – Playa del Carmen A hidden little paradise in the heart of Playa del Carmen. Macondo is a charming hotel that perfectly combines Caribbean warmth with a cozy and relaxed style. From the very first moment, the atmosphere feels intimate and thoughtfully designed—ideal for those looking for rest and a more personal experience away from the big resorts. We had a wonderful time. The rooms are tastefully decorated, clean, and well-equipped. The beautiful pool makes it a peaceful oasis after a day at the beach. We especially want to highlight the exceptional service provided by Steven, the receptionist. From the moment we arrived until the end of our stay, he was always attentive, friendly, and professional. His service was top-notch and truly made a difference in our experience. The location is perfect: just a few minutes’ walk from Fifth Avenue and the beach, yet far enough to enjoy quiet nights. If you’re looking for an authentic, comfortable place full of good energy, Macondo is an excellent choice. We will definitely be back!

Muy lindo el hotel y todas las infraestructuras son muy nuevas y cuidadas pero, lo que más me gustó fue la alberca y el rooftop. Además de eso, recibí la mejor atención por parte de Steven, muy amable y atento, siempre dispuesto a ayudar. Recomendado 100%

Todo muy bien, un departamento muy cómodo, espacio grande, cocina equipada, vista a la.5ta av. buena ubicación, las recepcionistas muy amables, todo bien excepto la limpieza ya que no hay servicio de limpieza, aún así nos gusto mucho, si volveríamos.

Receptionist/lady in charge double booked our room. She made excuses that it was not Macondos fault instead Expedia’s fault. When realizing Macondo made a mistake, she tired to give us a used, dirty room stating she was “being nice and doing us a favor”.

Electricity went out in our first room. We were moved to a different property and we had no electricity at that room either. This caused us to have a very bad experience in playa del Carmen.
