If you go to Grand Velas, you MUST go to the Bistro Restaurant and enjoy the amazing menu items created by Chef Mario Soto (he came out during our lunch to meet us). Raymundo, our waiter, has the art of presenting menu items with just the right touch of attentiveness yet allowing you to enjoy your meal with a view of the Caribbean Sea. My tuna tartare appetizer and grilled octopus (tender and flavorful) were presented so beautifully I didn’t want to eat them but was glad I did!

We stayed at the Grand Velas Riviera Maya in July 2025. There are so many good things to say. The room at the Grand section was fantastic. Jessica was our concierge, she was amazing, provided great service and exceeded our best expectations. All of the rest of the staff were attentive and provided great services. The food at all the restaurants was the excellent.

Spent a week here with a family of 7 including kids and elderly. Everyone enjoyed their stay. I must say the restaurants are outstanding. We booked this resort because of the great restaurants reviews and we weren’t disappointed. Every staff has a smile on their face. Our personal concierge Alfonso is very helpful in every aspect. We enjoyed the night show after dinner. The kids club staffs are kind and amazing. They also tried their best to clean up the sargassum on the beach. The room is spacious and clean. We arranged a private tour to Chichen Itza on one day and dolphin encounter on another day. I notice that booking on your own directly with the company is cheaper than booking thru the resort. This is definitely a resort that we will come back again.
