Dear Sirs We have just returned from a ten day break in Tenerife, where we stayed at Hotel Vulcano, this being the forth time we have stayed with Spring Hotel Vulcano. Regrettably we were saddened to see the detrimental changes to what was a wonderful Hotel, sad to say it will be a challenge for us to re visit the Hotel Vulcano unless there is a significant improvement. Upon our arrival we were pointed towards automated checking in machines which is the last thing you want after nine hours ( home to Hotel) travelling time. Unable to operate these machines your staff guided us back to the Reception Desk to be checked in. Then when I asked to pay a deposit for the room safe, I was told there were no magnets for the safe doors, it being suggested that we try each morning until one becomes available. At this point I informed the Receptionist that two years ago when we made our third visit to Hotel Vulcano, you had the same problem, claiming to be awaiting magnets to be supplied by the manufacturers. Upon our entry to our room (209) we immediately noticed the floor covering was coming away from surface which in some places had been screwed to the floor. When I went to the bathroom, I was a little concerned when I see to insects running across the floor, managing to kill both by stamping on them. Our next shock was when we went to the Dinning Room for our evening meal, which no longer had many dinners and no longer a ample supplies of food, instead guests stream from the hotel each evening to buy their evening meal from one of the many local restaurants in close proximity. The next shock came every evening in both the portion size of the main course and the poor selection of vegetables. One evening I asked the waiting staff if I had been served a child’s size portion of a Pork Loin in error, it was so small three modest mouth falls would have finished the meal, yes I was given a second portion ( twice the size of the first) but why was it so small. This happened again when I asked for a grilled steak (see photo) image0.jpeg As you can see 3 medium size mushrooms are the vegetables and a tiny sized steak. 25% of the steak potatoes were scraps of over cooked pieces and uneditable. Around the pool we were shocked by the 40% (estimated ) sun beds that had split and damaged fabric, tiles missing from the bottom of the pools. Finally on our last day while packing our clothes for the return journey a large insect the size of my little finger came running out from the wardrobe, fortunately two cleaning staff were outside of our room who moved the bed and using a spray and a broom killed the insect In allowing people to stay Bed & Breakfast you are attracting guests, many of which return making a noise and in some instances having consumed too much alcohol, they care not one bit about the hotel and abuse public areas.
