We had a few problems whilst at the hotel: The restuarant queues for evening meals were long & time consuming especially when we got in the restaurant to find so many empty tables which had not been cleared - maybe staff shortages but still frustrating. My husband fell ill on the day we were going home needing medical assistance I spoke to reception to ask if they could keep our room should we be a bit late getting back to complete our packing - the answer was NO even though I tried to explain his situation! The hotel itself was very nice with large rooms and we had no trouble finding sunbeds, it was also good to see socorrista taking towels off sunbeds if not used within an hour or so leaving a polite message explaining where their towels could be collected from!

This was my first solo holiday and from the moment I walked into reception I felt at ease and comfortable. My room wasn’t ready when I arrived but I had added Up (this is for over 18s and gives you exclusive access to a rooftop area, pool, jacuzzi, sun beds, bar and food) when booking my all inclusive holiday. The lovely man who greeted me on reception suggested I go up there and get a drink and have a look around. I did and it was stunning. Quiet, clean and welcoming. I got a drink and sat down taking in the view. I went downstairs and checked into my room. It was lovely. A very good size, 2 single beds, a good sized bathroom with a large shower that had both hand held shower head and a rain shower attached to the ceiling. There was a crack in the bottom of the shower but it didn’t affect my use. There was a comfy sofa, 4 drawers, shelves and hanging space too. There was a safe which I had access to. I also had a coffee machine, kettle and mini fridge in my room. The view from my balcony wasn’t amazing, it was of an abandoned hotel, however, this wasn’t an issue for me as I only used my room to sleep, shower and change as I was out a lot. I personally feel the food choice was fabulous. I was spoiled for choice. I tried to eat differently as much as I could. I never went to the main dining room for lunch but did for breakfast and dinner. The food was great quality and the staff in the restaurant were fantastic. They were welcoming, friendly, attentive and made me feel comfortable. As you can imagine, eating alone can be a little nerve wracking but the staff were wonderful. One gentleman suggested wine for me, which was lovely and then they would put the cork back in and keep it for the next night. The staff cleared away quickly between courses and kept the restaurant looking clean and tidy. Most evenings I went into the fun bar after dinner. They had different acts on and I think your like of this is personal as we don’t all like the same things. It’s clear they try to book acts for all ages. There were some acts that I preferred to others. Again, in here the staff were attentive, it was welcoming for all ages and the staff serve you at the table, again, they were all lovely. I mainly spent my days on the roof. The sun beds were comfortable and towels were provided. I used the jacuzzi and the pool numerous times. There were hot drinks, water, fresh orange juice, lager, cider, wines and Prosecco you could help yourself to, alongside some lovely foods, breakfast and lunch. There was also a fully stocked bar. Again, the staff were fantastic, attentive, chatty and friendly. One evening I was invited to a meal on the roof and it was absolutely beautiful. We had some Prosecco on arrival followed by a number of courses, all of which was very tasty. My glass was topped up with wine on request. It was a little windy up there, however the staff offered blankets, which was a nice idea. One day I went downstairs to the outdoor bar and order

Don’t get me wrong this hotel wasn’t awful, but it’s wasn’t amazing at all. Many people hype up this hotel saying how great it is but to be honest it is nothing special at all the rooms aren’t that great and the food isn’t either, the pool is average and the staff are pleasant enough i suppose. However the price of this hotel is unbelievably expensive for what it is i would certainly never pay this much money for this hotel ever again!! I expected a lot better than this. Don’t get me wrong if the hotel was actually worth it i would not mind at all but i think it’s an absolute rip off to be paying £350 a night for a 7 night stay just to experience an average hotel. Personally I don’t think it is worth it.

This was our first visit for back after 15 years and we were not disappointed. The variety of food was slightly less than before but still a good selection and fresh. The UP is well worth the extra money especially the 7 course meal and snacks available every day. We will be back next year. The staff are friendly and helpful but some don’t always understand what you are asking for.

Not a four star hotel, we are here right now, we pay for all inclusive. Im glad we have no bed bugs. Food is eatable, but Every dinner food is basicly the same, Same food only different shapes, no theme nights, no ala carte options at this hotel. i have been many four stars hotels in tenerife where food was much better. Kids has only fries and nuggets, one time there was mini pizzas but they where Same frozen minipizzas you get from lidl, dinner has no baked pizza. Hotel is clean and very nice, good location and staff are very friendly. We try that outdoor spa, we try to press buttons every spot but only few worked. Not return at this hotel.

Just come back home from the Bitacora what a fabulous hotel. Staff great room great meals also in fact it was a pleasure to stay there .Added bonus was the heated pool. We went to the showbar most nights one night 2 Acrobats were on all glammed up and they were great. Unfortunately the female singer came on she just looked as if she had been milking the cows Boots denim pants sloopy jumper loose cardigan and hair not combe .She let the whole show down. However that's the only negative from a great holiday

I used to go with my elderly parents, my husband and child for a relaxing holiday each year. Unfortunately, the Bitacora has deteriorated badly, and is not the lovely refined hotel it used to be. Screaming children, vaping by the pool and poor food with few vegetarian options have made it non-viable for us. Sadly, after having visited 10-12 times, pre-all-inclusive culture, we won't be back. After our most recent visit, my dad who first discovered the Bitacora in 2006, passed away. We have found a wonderful hotel in another country.
