Hotel Best Tenerife

Third time to Tenerife, first time staying at Hotel Best Tenerife; we like to try out a different hotel each visit! We stayed at Best Tenerife for a week in February half board. Upon arrival, we did instantly request to be moved to a new room due to being placed in an unsatisfactory, tatty room with a tiny balcony which resembled a prison cell. Reception staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating and moved us to a much larger, nicer room which was modern with a power shower and very comfy beds. Mini fridges are stocked with complimentary welcome drinks. Rooms are cleaned everyday. The hotel is undergoing renovation so sometimes heard drilling and hammering. The hotel lifts have a mind of their own and seem to take you to every floor but your own! The food in the hotel was okay but not the greatest, desserts were disappointing, opted to eat out quite a few times. Nice pool area. Could always easily get a sunbed no matter what time it was. Only the shallow children’s pool is heated, the other pool was unusable unless you enjoy ice baths - it was absolutely freezing! 🥶 The hotel is in an amazing location and central to everything you need; surrounded by bars, shops and restaurants. Bus stop right outside of the hotel with a free bus to Siam Mall / Siam Park.

The good bits 1st..great location..mostly very helpful and friendly staff especially the in the restaurant..lovely pool area loads of good quality sun beds..large rooms with comfortable beds and pillows plus loads of English tv channels to watch..a very good breakfast..loads of choices the cleaning standard is good Now the not so good bits...the all inclusive package is terrible..the alcoholic drinks are of a very poor standard we had to buy the branded drinks to get a decent drink ..although these were discounted ..lunch was OK but very repetitive..tuna salad or pek ham salad ..the evening meals were also very repetitive and not of a good standard..we hate in for the first 3 evenings then decided we had enough and dinned out for the rest of our stay..the food served by the pool was terrible cold chips cardboard pizza and burgers and hot dogs that were cold...non of the bar staff were interested in serving us unless we had our bank card out..it is the only 4 star all inclusive hotel we have visted that we have had to buy water for our room..the rooms are very tired ..the tiles on the floor of the shower were broken and several were missing with several more loose ones..the furniture badly damaged..we had a large terrace with a very high white wall around it ..it felt like a prison yard with sunbeds..guests from higher rooms would regularly cover the terrace with their cigarette ash ..on 3 occasions we had little visitors..cockroachers in the room..in general this hotel is very tired and in need of some TLC..I wouldn't class this as a 4 star hotel..it is in my opinion a bog standard 3 star hotel ..would I stay here again..NO
