Elba Premium Suites - Adults Only

This is the first time we’ve ever returned to a hotel, so there was slight anticipation about it not living up to last year but that very quickly disappeared as soon as we arrived. My opinion has not changed from my previous review. There is no doubting the accommodation, grounds, cleanliness etc but what I’ll try and do with this review is offer some balance based on our experience (twice now) to points people have raised, but before I do I just need to thank Miguel and the team for helping me and a mate arrange some golf before we even arrived and shout out to the two best members of staff we encountered who are head and shoulders above the rest. Dany on the evening adult bar and Maylin on Los Jameos. Every member of staff should be made to watch how these interact and treat guests and then apply it. Excellent service with a smile. Ok so food and drink offering is excellent. You can literally have a different breakfast every single day which most of us don’t at home. Lunches at Los Jameos were plentiful and delicious and themed nights make dinner options varied considering the four proteins available grilled fresh, loads of seafood but we particularly loved the Mexican night. Branded beer and spirits on the AI offering and the house wine is perfectly fine. Don’t get me wrong I won’t be importing cases but its fine. With an offering for all meals this vast the food does not get repetitive – your choices do. Sad to say the worst meal we had was actually at the brasserie as one of the a la carte. Onion soup lacking flavour, ribs tough, pork well overcooked. Balance is we had 19 meals there and 18 were excellent. Yes not all tables are set ready for people walking through the doors at different times, its no big deal to ask someone for some cutlery and a drink. Sewage smell, smelt it twice all week and its not restricted to Elba. Couldn’t smell it by our bungalow, by the pool or the food areas so absolutely no issue at all. Our room never got cleaned on two days but it was likely an admin issue, we called up and it got rectified straight away. Read my previous review and this one and honestly you won’t be disappointed booking this place. It was a brilliant week and we will be back next year.

Positive, we loved the room/suite both the interior modern decor and the outside sunbathing terrace. Garden and pool area were immaculately kept. Negative, The adults only restaurant was one of the worst in terms of service I have experienced. From the moment we walked in, the service was substandard. The staff seemed disinterested, almost as if they were doing us a favor by serving us. On the 2nd night the table wasn’t ready eventually got seated then had to wait 10 minutes for cutlery! After that no one even asked if we wanted water or wine!! No menu nothing disgraceful! We were on a half board basis and were also very disappointed as no choice of drinks available. We felt all geared towards a basic all inclusive offering. When we tried to address our complaints, the staff's response was half-hearted at best. No apology, no attempt to make amends, just a shrug and a promise to 'pass it on.' This place has lost the plot on what hospitality and customer service should be and left us feeling very disappointed and as a result we dined out for the remainder of the holiday.

Fantastic hotel. Everything perfect and staff were amazing. We went all inclusive. Food was presented nicely and there was a good variety. Room was great, cleaned every day to a high standard. Excellent upkeep of garden/pool areas. Definitely recommend and hope to go again.

This is a very good 4 star hotel The staff are really nice and friendly and the villa style accommodation is very spacious Mayling from the Elba Premuim Bar staff always had a smile on her face every morning! The food is good always something nice to have and great salad bar. I would come again and I’m fussy!

I have traveled all around the world and I can understand due to the pandemy the dynamic of services and prices haved changet allot and the hotels struggle with the working human force all around the island, it dident bother us to much. Costa is still here, my kids are a bit toller but still happy and full of energy. We enjoy the karaoke night and quizez mayde by Roberto...Laura she is great with miniclub and Lulu a proper pro with Yoga and fitness
