The first four days were sheer bliss, then it happened. Sitting on our terrace discussing the possibility of coming back here in January, after a lovely day out at the marina, I went to the safe to get my phone out and found the safe had been unlocked, our travel wallet had been ripped open and 980 euros stolen. Passports, credit card and phone not touched. The complex manager and the police came, no sign of forced entry, so someone opened the Yale locked door with a key and opened the safe with a key. Now I’m no Sherlock Holmes but I’m beginning got smell a rat here. The manager offers to drive us to the police station the next day to fill a crime report in and get an officially stamped copy ( for our insurance company), which he does, then kindly shows us the bus stop to get back to the resort ( I’m try not to laugh now). And that concluded any other contract we had with anyone from the complex. The door and safe lock not replaced, so we had to barricade the door with dining furniture for last three nights, ( knowing someone has a key to the door). There was no “ will you be okay or here’s 10 euros for a snack”. Up until the robbery towels were changed twice, bedding once and the kitchen bin was emptied everyday, conveniently none of these happened on the robbery day, except the safe was emptied of euros. Not sure of how organised this crime is, but someone knew what was in that safe, knew we were out and knew if anything else but euros went missing a whole heap of trouble was coming to the complex. So this type of behaviour seems to be acceptable and tolerated, we’ll sort your insurance out, everyone’s a winner. So what would have been a four star review is now a 1 because I can’t give it zero. I think you will be perfectly fine here as long as you haven’t got a great deal of money with you, please just take a card of some sort, or don’t use the safe. At the end of the week we had to take the safe key back for the 10 deposit refund ( hilarious) and the lady on reception said “ because there was no sign of forced entry, nothing could be done “ . So in conclusion we will not be returning in January or any other day. There’s something very fishy about this place.
