Htop Caleta Palace #HtopBliss

Difficult to know where to begin with this highly expensive dive of a hotel. Staff surly and uncooperative (apart from cleaner who was very pleasant). Had to HIRE a kettle!!, requested a fridge, fridge arrived and was broken, requested and got a working fridge which was dumped outside my door!!. I was actually shouted and sworn at by a male member of the waiting staff who actually gave me the “slit throat” sign as I made the mistake of smoking in an area two yards from where smoking was permitted. I then observed an elderly French gent spark up the biggest cigar I’ve ever seen and not a word was said to him!!. The food is of avery poor quality. They had “ show cooking” in which one night the gastronomic delight they managed to conjure up was….wait for it… cauliflower cheese on special display plates. Bloody hell man, I’ve been able to knock up a pretty mean cauliflower cheese since I was 12. I enquired about a room with a sea view and was told that if one was available it would cost an additional 60 euros ….. PER NIGHT. I will say that the view from the sun terrace was absolutely stunning at any time of day. Avoid the “snacks” from the fridge. I ate a boiled egg salad sandwich and was up nine times during the night. I could go on and on but easier to say avoid this place like the proverbial. I am usually a big fan of Jet2 having been a loyal customer of theirs booking 3-4 hols per year with them but have to say they’ve let me and themselves down badly with this overpriced crap. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL.!!
