Hotel Cortijo del Arte - Caminito del Rey

We enjoyed our stay. It is a beautiful location in a lovely country house. The location is good: in half an hour you can be in Malaga, or on the coast, or you can reach beautiful landscapes such as Ardales on the Caminito Del Rey. The staff are friendly. The breakfast is OK and well prepared, although there could be a little more variety and it could be more sustainable, for example by not using small plastic containers for butter, jam and other items. The rooms are well maintained, but there is a lack of storage space for your clothes/luggage (there is no wardrobe, nor a chair to put things on). A daily change of towels in the sunny south would be nice (this was not the case and we stayed there for 5 nights). You take a shower in the bath, but a bath mat is highly recommended because the bath can be very slippery and there is nothing to hold on to. There is one major negative point that the owners should perhaps take into account: it is full of wasps and hornets; you see them everywhere (in the car park, in the courtyard, at the entrance to the rooms, at and in the swimming pool, etc.). And there are so many of them that you never feel comfortable walking into your room (or they fly in with you). We couldn't use the swimming pool either because there were wasps around us all the time. Something really needs to be done about this; there are pesticides available. And another thing... check the minibar bill. We had to pay for five drinks, but we didn't consume any. So I asked the manager to just check our minibar, but unfortunately he didn't bother and made us pay.

We had the most delightful stay in this very pretty hotel. We booked in for lunch, dinner and breakfast, and it was extremely good value. The food was delicious. The salmorejo and the gazpacho, starters at lunch, were just amazing, and the mains which followed equally lovely. We had a wonderful and relaxing afternoon, lying by the small but perfect pool. Room was very comfortable. We were made to feel very welcome. We only wished we could have stayed longer.

Our recent stay at Hotel Cortejo del Arte was truly delightful! Santiago, the owner, warmly welcomed us and ensured our experience was exceptional. The rooms were cozy and well-maintained, contributing to a pleasant stay. The hotel itself was charming, providing a comfortable atmosphere for relaxation with fireplaces on around (as it was December) The hotel provided a comfortable retreat for our days of exploration. Its convenient location allowed us to easily visit Marbella, Malaga, Ronda, and Cadiz in the afternoons after our morning horse rides. One of the highlights was Santiago’s involvement in co-owning a horse riding facility. The horse riding experience was a highlight of our trip. He effortlessly arranged lessons for us, allowing us to have an incredible time exploring this fantastic activity. The dedication he showed in organizing everything for us was simply outstanding. Not only they provided riding lessons but also allowed us to assist with basic care for the horses, and learn more about horsemanship which added a special touch to our stay. Additionally, the restaurant's delicious meals and the attentive staff contributed to our overall enjoyment. Santiago's dedication to ensuring a pleasant stay was evident throughout. Overall, Hotel Cortejo del Arte provided a lovely retreat. It's a place I'd recommend for a relaxing getaway.

I booked half board in a double room. On arrival on a very hot day the reception was empty and I spent around 20 minutes trying to find someone to check in who eventually appeared. The room was average. However this was not my main issue. Having already paid £113 for half board I arrived at their restaurant to be told by the waiting staff that as part of the half board deal I could have a starter, main & dessert (which my wife had). However at the end of the meal I was presented with a bill for €96!! The manager stated that I would be given an allowance back the following morning at breakfast. Sure enough the following morning I was presented with €36!!! For the two of us which didn’t even cover the starters. I feel conned very misleading, nothing was made clear & I urge future guests to book room only so that you then know what your paying for. WONT BE RETURNING

Great little hotel . Very relaxing , staff excellent and very helpful and accommodating . We were very relaxed and comfortable there and enjoyed afew drinks in the restaurant which is alongside the hotel . The pool is great and there are Sunbeds to relax on .
