Overpriced and Full of Disappointments – Stay Away! Checked in on July 23, 2025 We booked Pelican Resort in Pittulongu expecting an exclusive and relaxing stay. The reality turned out to be something completely different – and sadly, nowhere near what’s promised in the hotel’s glossy marketing. At €328 per night, you’d expect both quality and included amenities. Not here. Breakfast? Not included. If you want to eat at the hotel, be prepared to pay an additional €40 per day. Want to use the hotel beach? That’s another €40 per day for sunbeds – and that’s on top of an already steep room rate. If you actually want to enjoy the “full experience”, you’re looking at nearly double the price. It’s absurd. I specifically requested a sea view when booking, and was assured this was possible. Instead, we were given a view of a backyard with a rat’s nest right outside the window (photo attached). On top of that, we had adjoining doors with the neighboring room, meaning they could look straight into ours. Privacy? Forget it. We had to keep the curtains closed at all times – not that it mattered, since there was nothing to look at anyway. The promised sea view was sorely missed. The hotel markets itself as “adults only”, which was a major reason we chose it. Yet, we encountered children in the shared hotel areas. Fine for those wanting a family hotel – but don’t advertise it as child-free if that’s not enforced. It’s misleading and flat-out false. An Italian hotel without a simple snack platter featuring local cheeses, hams, and salami? Hard to believe, but it simply doesn’t exist – unless you book a spa treatment. Only then do you get access to this kind of dish. This isn’t hospitality; it’s just cynical upselling. Overall, this hotel feels like a place that squeezes every euro out of its guests, while delivering little in terms of service, quality, or experience. The focus is clearly on profit – not guest satisfaction – and it shows. Sardinia is beautiful, but there are plenty of other places and hotels far more worthy of your money than this one. Avoid Pelican Resort – unfortunately, there aren’t many better alternatives nearby either, but don’t fall into this money trap. We don’t expect to hear from the hotel, but if this review helps even one person avoid wasting their money here, every keystroke was worth it. —— Prezzi esagerati e tante delusioni – evitatelo!
