Antico Hotel Moderno

Ci siamo fermati per un pernottamento, in attesa di prendere, all'indomani, il traghetto per l'Isola d'Elba. Devo dire che non ci poteva capitare di meglio: camera spaziosa e pulitissima, posizione praticamente in Centro Storico, personale cortese e disponibile, prezzo onestissimo.....che dire......complimenti!! Esperienza breve ma molto positiva Camera pulita , profumata e fresca Colazione super abbondante e servizio molto positivo. La titolare e la figlia due persone meravigliose. Ottima posizione centrale . Unica pecca il parcheggio ma si trova nelle vicinanze è gratuito.. SoggiornTo per ferragosto ad un prezzo molto buono

L'hotel e comodo in quanto si trova in pieno centro e a 5 minuti dal porto, ma data l'esperienza non vale i soldi spesi. L'ingresso e composto da una scalinata senza ascensore e questo ovviamente e un Malus per chi ne necessita. La reception si trova al primo o piano e dato la stato di gravidanza di mia moglie, mi sono dovuto caricare tutto a mano. I letti non sono molto comodi perche risultano un po duri e con cuscini molto bassi. Per quanto riguarda la colazione è ok ma nulla di eccezionale.

Hotel in centro a Piombino, molto comoda la posizione. Per il resto... insomma, le camere certamente meriterebbero una bella rinfrescata, la colazione è così così, con la meraviglia di prodotti che offre la Toscana la abbiamo trovata un po' povera. Nella media.

The hotel is at the beginning of the pedestrian area of ​​Piombino, in a strategic area for both work and pleasure. The rooms are nice, a little dated but still acceptable. The breakfast was poor, served on a closed terrace, with a limited savory portion, some cakes and croissants, but without fresh fruit or special treats. Discreet.

We only slept one night at the Moderno hotel, but it was enough to understand the excellent level: very kind staff and owners, beautiful room with all the comforts, nice bathroom, high level of cleanliness and you can see that it has been recently renovated. It's close to restaurants and shopping; we will definitely be back!

We stayed at this hotel from 27th to 29th August. I'll quickly review the structure of the hotel: the room as well as the breakfast are sufficient. The part I would like to focus on and tell you about concerns an episode that happened on August 28th. At 1.00 pm, the cleaning lady entered our room without knocking while my girlfriend and I were on the bed, telling us that she had to redo the room. Entering without knocking was not pleasant which made both me and my girlfriend nervous. I'll start by saying that making up the room at 1pm also seems late to me but every hotel has its own rules. Rules that were not explained to us at check-in. Promptly, I reported it to the girl at the reception who told me that cleaning was done from 8.30am to an unspecified end. To my question "but don't you have a door hanging sign saying do not disturb" to avoid these inconveniences? The answer was: of course! It's inside your room. The fact is that this door hanger sign was not present inside our room due to an oversight when arranging the room in anticipation of our check-in. So much so that they checked both the attendant and the receptionist, confirming their non-presence as well. The discussion could very well have been concluded that same day. I reported the problem and gave constructive feedback. The next day, August 29th, during breakfast, a lady from the reception went aside with the owner to talk about us. Now I'm not a paranoid person but if I hear "Is it him?" And the next sentence, in an annoyed tone, that the gentleman said was: "ok but there are signs that are put outside the door"!, you understand that these people were talking about us. The professionalism of speaking in front of your guests? Do it on another occasion but not in front of us with the room empty. I promptly replied that the "door hanger sign was not inside of our room. The lady replied immediately, without asking herself what I was saying: "'we're not talking about her'! Now her promptness was so sudden that she confirmed to me the reality of the facts, that is, that they were talking about us. It makes it clear that these people have not spoken to each other in the last 24 hours since the event and have not asked us for a discussion. It also makes clear the unprofessional way in which they handle these situations. It has been a disservice to you to acknowledge it and improve without discrediting your guests Mistakes happen. Not having put the door hanger sign when setting up the room can happen. I know that the cleaning lady didn't do it on purpose. Next time I advise you to always knock and make sure when setting up of the room, that everything is prepared for the reception of guests, I always advise the owners and the staff not to speak in front of the guests
