Brookshire Inn

Stayed here with 10 friends (5 rooms) on Sunday June 22, 2025. Each room has similar issues. Check-in was less than helpful. Put us in a room that was already used. Had to switch after unloading all our gear. New room lacked towels and no hangers (no hangers in all the rooms). Had to get towels from another room. Check in agent was always in her truck in the parking lot talking on the phone and not available. Frig in our room did not work. Fire alarm kept going on all night long. Everybody in the hallways all the time due to fire alarm. Then they turned the alarm off so not sure that is legal since in case of a real fire we would not know. Then there was the train that went by every hour so waking us up. Reception area was under construction so no place to eat the very minimal breakfast they tried to provide on 2 tiny tables. I left 5 messages over 5 days the following week to the manager and owner to request a discount but have not heard back. Only rooms on the 3rd floor due to some issues with renovation. Very small and slow elevator. Would not recommend staying there if at all possible. Might be better to camp out.

Have stayed here several times and have never been disappointed! Recently remodeled and updated! Walking distance to several great restaurants! The beds are better than mine at home! Very clean, great location! If you are traveling to the Hatfield and McCoy trails, seeing the second largest earth moving project in the world, attending a concert at Appalachian wireless arena, or visiting friends or family, this is the best value in Pikeville! I’ll be staying there again soon!

This hotel is a joke. If you book your rooms online, you may or may not have a room when you get there. We drove 8 hours with 2 rooms booked for 4 nights. Only one room was available. One bed. No other rooms available. I guess when you stay in a hotel, you should have water... No water from 8am till 3pm. during weekdays... I was told they were doing renovations. No TV! The phone did not work to call front desk... Our room had no handle on the inside of the bathroom door. No towel racks for your towels. You have to ask for room service if you stay more than one night. Really? you have to ASK? AND get this...Getting into the elevator smelled of stale cigarettes. This was the worst experience I have ever had. To boot the fat blonde chick at the front desk is a b****.

I checked out in the middle of the night due to a party in the room below me. I called the front desk 4 times and nothing was done..I ended up sleeping in my car in a Walmart parking lot. Used to like this place but neither myself or anyone in my company will be back

The hotel had a noticeable odor immediately upon walking through the front door. The smell of cigarettes permeated throughout the building. The AC unit in my room wasn’t fully functioning. My room was stuffy and stayed about 75 degrees overnight. I was fortunate that the front desk clerk found a small desk fan that I used in my room. The bathroom had tiles that were brown from a water leak. They also had a maintenance/construction crew begin work at 7am so sleeping in wasn’t an option. I would not recommend this place under any circumstance.

Easy check in. Clean rooms. Decent breakfast. Only stayed one night but was pleased with the accommodations. They do allow pets so did hear some barking but nothing too bad. Plenty of parking and room in the back for larger vehicles and trailers.
