Holiday Inn Express & Suites Pigeon Forge/Near Dollywood

We had a couple problems when we got there talked to the front desk was taken care of immediately. All the people there was extremely nice and very helpful. The breakfast was delicious and the place was extremely clean will definitely go back.

I would not stay here again. On the plus side, the staff are efficient (not necessarily friendly, but efficient) and the location is great. And it is that rare Holiday Inn that doesn't force loud televisions on us during morning breakfast - what a relief! We stay at Holiday Inns regularly and far too many of them force loud TVs on the guests; this one is the rare exception. Unfortunately, though, there are some structural issues with this hotel. First, the lighting is prison-like. Instead of using warm light in the 2500 Kelvin range, they use cold, harsh, prison lighting through - I'm guessing 6000 Kelvin. It is awful and headache-inducing. Second, the bathroom has nowhere - and I mean NOWHERE - to hang anything. No hooks, no towel bars. So I had to rig up a system to hang our towels from the ceiling tiles - not ideal. Third, there was no ventilation in the room, which meant it was constantly humid, so on walking in the room there was a wall of mildew smell that was inescapable. Most hotels have an exhaust fan in the bathroom, but not this one. We left about a week ago and our luggage still smells like mildew from that hotel. In addition, the furniture was falling apart - literally. We sat down on the sofa and the arm fell right off. Not to mention that a metal bar nearly broke our tailbones - most uncomfortable sofa on the planet and well past its prime - the cushions are saggy, stained, and torn. Finally, one of our favorite things about staying in Holiday Inns is their warm cinnamon rolls. But this one had COLD cinnamon rolls! I think they just took the frozen or maybe refrigerated rolls and stuck them under the heatlamp, so the outside of the rolls was dry and lukewarm but the inside was cold and hard. Such a disappointment. Overall I think this hotel is past due for a major renovation. It is probably a good place to stay with a bunch of kids (and in fact lots of families with kids were here) because they can't do any more damage than has already been done. But if we were to be back in Pigeon Forge I'd given another one of the Holiday Inns a try over this one - all of them are quite close together.

We have stayed in this hotel many times through the years. It has a great location near many things but a block off the main road so it is quiet and safe. The rooms are clean and comfortable. They have good beds and plenty of space to unpack and be comfortable. Betty and Becky make sure you have a great breakfast with many good choices and a well stocked and clean eating area. They greet you with a smile and make sure you get what you need. Thanks!

Excellent hotel -modern, clean, great breakfast, spacious rooms. The pool and all the outdoor spaces were wonderful. Price was quite reasonable-highly recommend!

Hotel stay was great overall, beds were pretty comfortable. Enjoyed the indoor & outdoor pools & the hot tub. Staff was friendly. Really liked that they have a little snack area in the lobby that offers different foods and drinks and also free popcorn.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! When our original vacation plans were canceled at the last minute, we booked this hotel on a whim, hoping for the best. The rooms are spacious, modern, and clean. The hotel breakfast had some of the best variety and quality of food I think I've ever seen from a continental breakfast. The hotel is also in walking distance from several restaurants and attractions. The indoor and outdoor pools are nice and well maintained. We will definitely return on our next trip to Pigeon Forge!
