I didn't think that such hotels and such service exist in Thailand.
I booked a family room for two days in advance, about 2 months before. I needed a hotel after a long flight, to relax and go to Samui. Therefore, I did not have high hopes and chose based on the principle of more space and beds for 2 adults and 2 children.
Two days before arrival, I decided to write to the hotel, since we arrived at 23.00, and the description indicated that the reception is open until 22.00. I wrote to the specified WhatsApp number and the manager confirmed my reservation, but immediately began to ask strange questions - how many people and family or friends will be there. I should have thought about it right away ...
In the end, when we arrived tired after a day of traveling to the hotel by car, we were told that our family room was occupied, they mixed something up (I think they just did not see the trip.com reservation) and put an extra bed in a regular room. Extra. the bed turned out to be a plywood semblance of a folding bed with a hard mattress and dirty bedding. It was impossible to sleep on it, as well as to look for new housing in the middle of the night. We had to sleep four people!!! on one bed.
I will not describe the countless number of ants in the room.
The next morning they solemnly announced to us that we could move to a family room. Again, dragging things because of one day of stay...
I asked about a possible breakfast - they said that they could set it. The amount of breakfast was 560 baht, which of course is greatly inflated, as in a decent cafe, and not this roadside hole. After breakfast, I clarified with the hostess whether I need to pay now or there will be a recalculation and compensation for downgrading the room from a family to a standard. The hostess said OK, we will recalculate. According to my estimates, the amount of compensation should cover the cost of breakfast and decided that the issue is closed. How surprised I was the next day when checking out, when they asked us for the cost of breakfast, and my arguments about the difference in the cost of the rooms and compensation for moral damages did not interest anyone. We also received a portion of undeserved insults, nationalistic shouts in our direction. 5 times in Thailand and more than 10 times in Asia, we have never encountered such rudeness. In the end, we left 200 baht as the difference between the cost of breakfast and compensation for the room downgrade. I am writing a month after checking out, so there are no special emotions, only a statement of facts and a warning against booking this roadside motel in Kanal with absolutely inappropriate behavior of the family clan.
