Hyatt Place Phoenix North

We've stayed at Hyatt properties before and considered it a good brand. This property shredded that impression and we likely won't stay at a Hyatt again with so many other choices. We were in town for just one night for a concert and were glad it was just the one night, if we'd planned to be in town longer we'd have changed hotels. Starting with check-in, where the desk staff and even the manager could not find confirmation that our stay was already paid for, even though I had my receipt. They said they hadn't received payment through the third party (trip.com) I'd booked the room with weeks ago. The manager was surly about it, though he apologized when, some 15-20 minutes later they finally confirmed payment had been received. The room was just shabby, things falling apart and worn out. The drain was clogged in the bathtub so we were standing in 8 inches of water and it took a half hour to drain. No blankets on the bed, just a sheet and a thin throw over that, about the same weight as a sheet, the bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, and the freeway noise didnt' help. Breakfast was included but not served until 7AM on the weekends. They had a lot of options - at first - but quickly ran out of yogurt, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, syrup, and even coffee. We were told it would be replenished but after almost a half hour we just left and found a restaurant on the road. I'd expect this from a $100 a night Motel 6, but this is Hyatt and the room was over $200. Never again.

thanks to my buddy who made it all possible. Hyatt is the best. my friend got the room for me on short notice and I enjoyed it.

Do not go here while the hotel is under renovation. They should tell you it’s being worked on before you book here. The condition of the bathroom is embarrassing.

Great location that is freeway close and in a safe business area. The location is under remodel but we did not have any disturbances along with it. AC worked great to overcome the AZ Summer heat. Breakfast had a good tasty selection with some standard hotel basics. Would definitely keep it on our future Hotel List.

I travel frequently—over 60 nights a year—and Hyatt Place Phoenix-North ranks as the worst hotel I’ve stayed at anywhere in the world. I was here for a baseball event in the spring, and it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. The property is old, dirty, unsafe, and completely neglected. The rooms are worn down, the hallways smell, and the entire building feels like it’s been abandoned by corporate oversight. I reached out directly to the General Manager, Samantha Wand, and was met with the most inadequate, dismissive response you could imagine. She clearly couldn’t care less about the state of the hotel, guest satisfaction, or the Hyatt brand. If you read through the reviews—and I encourage you to—every single one says the same thing. And the hotel’s response? Copy-paste fluff that’s as meaningless as it is insulting. At this point, Hyatt should do themselves a favor and pull the flag immediately. This place is a stain on the brand. If you care at all about safety, cleanliness, or basic hospitality, NEVER stay here.
