The Bellevue Hotel

It’s very old, small, and lack of amenities if compared to similar value hotel. The hotel security is not polite. I’m very disappointed during my stay….

Room was gorgeous and the beds were very comfortable with very soft sheets. I would love to return to Philly again and stay at the Bellevue!

I travelled for business to Philadelphia and my wife accompanied me.. The hotel has great architecture and style of a bygone era, and I liked the lighting appliances in the room and the general feel. However, the service, with a few welcome exceptions like Maryann (Reception), Bisrat (Porter) and Erin (Restaurant hostess), felt indifferent and generally underwhelming. The air conditioning in the room seemed to have only two settings: on at full blast or off. The much advertised Sports Center is not just for the hotel guests, but also for the "Residence apartments" guests. It is huge and well equipped, but the pool got very busy with the regulars at times. The locker rooms are bland and plasticky. The restaurant at the top, Pergola, has a very nice design and feel (inherited from that bygone era), but it's mostly empty and the menu is very limited. Breakfast there is good but expensive. The restaurant staff are friendly enough, but need some customer service training and move in slow motion. The buffet is very limited, I had to ask for honey (this is available even in a Holiday Inn). They ran Yoga classes in the morning at the weekend, in the Atrium on the 8th floor. The noise woke us up. Again, lack of consideration for the guests and a lack of focus on service rather than monetisation. Overall, I cannot give this hotel more that Three Stars - which is a shame.

One of the best hotel visits I’ve had, period. The valet team including Tahj was super friendly and not only took care of our car but recommended some great restaurants. Room check in was the all electronic send-to-the-iPhone type which was just such a relief after a long trip. Huge room and bathroom? Yes. Fancy rain shower thing? Yes. Fluffy robes? Yes. Soft and comfy bed with excellent pillows? Yes. My only regret is that I didn’t realize there were slippers too! Don’t make my mistake, they’re above the robes in the giant closet. I would happy stay again.
