The hotel is cozy. It opened in 1787, more than 200 years ago, and is decorated in British style. Although it has a long history, it is still relatively clean. It only takes a 5-minute walk to the Freedom Palace.

Although a quick trip really loved this historic hotel right in the heart of the historic area of Philadelphia. We could walk to everything we wanted to see from Independence Hall to Betsy Ross house and everything in between. We found it to be nice and quiet also even though in downtown. Would definitely recommend.

If you are looking for fancy with lots of bells and whistles, this is not for you. If you want quiet, comfortable and a bit of nostalgia, you’ll love it. The location is excellent. The breakfast was more than enough. Our room was small but lots of drawers and closets. Our only complaint was the water in the bathroom sink comes out in a trickle. The shower, however, was fine. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We would stay again.

Loved the historical aspects of the hotel. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with lots of great recommendations in the area. We would definitely stay here again.
