Hampton Inn Petaluma
4.5/597 Reviews
This Hampton Inn is usually pricy at $200+ a night on most weekends, but a recent Sunday night set me back a more reasonable $150. I'm usually at the Best Western for $120 or less :) PROs: -Reasonable weekday pricing -Friendly staff -Spacious, clean, modern rooms and bathrooms -Free Parking -Quiet location -Short drive/Cheap Uber & Lyft into downtown -Decent breakfast included, with eggs and bacon CONs: -Expensive on weekends! -No pool or jacuzzi -Nothing worthwhile in walking distance. I'd likely stay here again for the right price.
Quality Inn Petaluma - Sonoma

I loved this hotel. The staff were always around cleaning something and they seemed genuinely pleasant. And while the whole place could use a fresh coat of paint, everything was clean and smelled clean. We were there for a wedding event and most of the party stayed at the Sheraton Hotel. We chose Quality Inn because I just couldn't stomach the idea of paying so much money that the Sheraton wanted. But because most of the party was there, we spent most of our time at the Sheraton. Here are some differences: S=$$$ Q=$$. S=Not clean (the cushions in the dining room and carpets were HORRIBLE Q=Very clean, S=Staff was okay but no smiles Q=Accommodating (one member even saw that I was having a hard time making a bow for my gift and she offered to do it for me-had the wire and everything as she used to work in a florist shop) and they were all smiling. S=No breakfast-not even free coffee on the tables and/or lobby Q=FREE (wonderful) continental breakfast.
Park Inn by Radisson, Petaluma
3.1/597 Reviews
We stayed over for only one night to visit family. Our room was perfect for us and gave us everything we needed for our one night. I particularly enjoyed the presence of a small dining booth. Being a retro nut, this really appealed to me with its charm and was unexpected. Our only problem was, of all things, the mattress! Though extremely comfortable, it slid on the surface of its pedestal. We were not aware of its movement until my husband awoke during the night with intense back pain, as he had fallen asleep sitting up while our mattress was traveling south! Because I was laying down, I didn't notice our slow voyage. Our one and only suggestion would be to somehow secure mattresses to prevent Guests from inadvertently moving them. Even so, we would definitely stay there again, due to the location for our needs, cleanliness and charming room touches.

The Best Western Petaluma gives the traveler an excellent place to stay at a reasonable rate. The amenities are first-class, albeit without frills. The staff is very helpful and omnipresent, and the rooms are cleaned perfectly every day.
