Nice big traditional hotel room, carpeted (including corridor) so very quiet. Lovely view of the Douro from room at the back, and we were allocated a first floor room as requested. Hotel is convenient for the railway station, also near the quay for boat trips. We enjoyed meals in their restaurant on both nights. We asked for the English menu at reception and realised we could upgrade to a half board option which made it a three course set menu for 26 Euros, apparently including house wine (despite the menu saying it didn't include drinks). This was a much better deal than their à la carte menu. We also enjoyed the buffet breakfast in their top floor room, again with great views, fab choice.
